150+ Boxer Dog Names: Unique & Popular Ideas

Share

The Boxer is one of the more popular dogs in the United States. According to American Kennel Club registrations, they’re the 14th most popular dog breed in the country. Most people love them because they’re medium sized yet full of personality.

These canines are working dogs through and through. They were originally bred to be “butcher’s helpers,” providing security in the slaughterhouse. They prevented thieves from getting in and helped control the cattle inside. Today, they are still quite tough. However, they are also extremely lovable. Finding a name that fits both of these categories can be difficult!

Here, we’ve listed our favorite Boxer dog names. You should be able to find the perfect option for your new puppy!

How to Name a Boxer

Ultimately, the most important aspect of a name is that you like it. Your dog probably doesn’t care much what their name is, as long as they get plenty of attention from you!

Still, naming your dog can be harder than it seems. Sometimes, finding a single name that you like can seem overwhelming. Other times, you may not be able to narrow it down to only one name because you like several! If there are other people in your household, their input should matter too, though finding a name that everyone likes can also be challenging.

Fortunately, there shouldn’t be a rush to choose a name. You can try on a few over a period of a day or two before determining which one fits your dog best. Your dog isn’t likely to memorize their name if it’s only used for a day or two.

You can even start training before choosing a name. Just use a command like “attention” before giving your dog a command instead of using their name.
