Are Dogs Allowed in Michaels? 2026 Pet Policy
If you’ve ever needed emergency art or craft supplies only to realize you need to leave your dog home alone, you’re not alone. Luckily, Michaels is a large chain supplier of arts and crafts tools and materials that will allow you to browse their store with your dog freely. If your dog knows how to behave correctly and doesn't bother other customers and their pets, it will always be a welcome guest at the pet-friendly Michaels store.
Is Michaels Pet Friendly?
Michaels is a chain retailer of arts and crafts supplies. Besides being entirely open to creativity and curious people, Michaels is also welcoming towards their pets. The company has built its pet-friendly reputation proudly over the last few years, allowing dogs of all breeds and sizes to enter. Michaels will allow you to browse their stores with your furry companions and not require you to leave them in front of the store.
How to Make Sure Your Dog Behaves
While Michaels is entirely open to hosting your pet while you browse in their store, they have some basic rules and restrictions that need to be followed. Above all, your pet must be on a leash at all times. This ensures the safety of other shoppers and their pets as well. Dogs also aren't allowed in food preparation classes.
If an accident occurs while you’re busy shopping, make sure to have a potty bag ready to clean up the mess. While Michaels is quite liberal with pets entering their stores, no one will tolerate your pet excessively barking at other customers. Make sure to be mindful and considerate of other people shopping at Michaels, and keep your dog calm and well-behaved.
Before Bringing Your Dog to Michaels
Before you leave for the Michaels store, there are a few things you’ll need to consider. You must adequately socialize your dog to enter this or any other pet-friendly store. If your pet is not accustomed to crowds, taking it to such a public place wouldn’t be wise. Feed your dog before leaving, as this will keep them satisfied for longer and less frustrated. Take your dog for a potty break and let it do its business before arriving at Michaels.
Final Thoughts
Once you learn that Michaels is very welcoming for our beloved companions, you’ll be free from worrying about leaving your dog home alone the next time you need to make a stop by the store. Make sure you follow all the rules and restrictions this store has. Ensure your dog is well-behaved and friendly, and social with other people and dogs. If your dog behaves well, you will always be a welcomed guest at Michaels!
