This story is just one more reason I think Dogsters are the best. Dogster member Karen and her daughter helped rescue two dogs that were wandering on the side of the road.

Since Karen already has two elderly dogs with medical problems a new home is needed for the dogs she calls Murray and Tucker.

My daughter and I picked them up from the side of Jim Johnson Rd in Plant City, FL, on 5/16/09. Neither one had a collar. Both are young males. Murray I would guess is about a year old, maybe less, and Tucker I would guess at about six months.

I don’t know much about them, except what we’ve experienced since we’ve had them. They are both very friendly and enjoy people. Murray in particular just wants to play, and he’s the kind of dog that “smiles” when he sees you. Tucker was considerably more emaciated when we picked him up, so as his energy is returning, his personality is starting to come through, and while he is also playful, he is a bit gentler about things as compared to Murray.

They are both crate trained; neither one has had an accident in his crate since we’ve had them. They are both quiet; I was expecting barking dogs in my garage that first night, and instead they both slept deeply and quietly, and have been very quiet dogs ever since. The only time one makes a noise, and that would be Tucker, is when we take Murray out to walk first and he loses sight of him. A friend of mine suggested that they might have been intended as hunting dogs, but I know absolutely nothing about that.

Not sure what else to tell you… These guys are very appreciative of the care they are now getting, and will make wonderful friends for someone who decides to offer a happy, forever home.

Thanks so much for your help!

Karen

Thank you to Karen for being such a wonderful, caring individual who took the time to make a difference. If you are interested in adopting the dogs please contact Karen at 813-752-5919 or via email @ kmitchellsphr@msn.com. While it would be nice to adopt the dogs together, they can be separated if it isn’t possible to do so.
