UNITE Hair DOGGY’POO Review 2025: An Expert’s Breakdown

Unite Hair Dog Grooming Products

Our Final Verdict

We give UNITE Hair an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Quality: 5/5

Efficacy: 5/5

Ingredients: 5/5

Scent: 4.5/5
Value: 5/5

Just like our own shampoos and body wash, we tend to be very picky with what we use, and I find myself being equally picky over Lorelei’s products. From ensuring the fur is soft and beautiful to making certain the skin won’t be irritated, what you use to keep your pup clean makes a significant impact on their overall health. With so much new research in pet care, products are now safer and of higher quality than before.

UNITE Hair is one such business known for providing luxurious hair care for people. Having added dog shampoo and detangler to its product lineup, UNITE has extended its safe ingredients and vegan offerings to our four-legged friends! But does this brand do as many wonders for dogs as it does for people? I had the chance to find out.

All of the products cater to all hair types, with pets being the newest addition to UNITE Hair.

What makes UNITE unique and different from the rest is their promise to use only ingredients that have been PETA-certified as cruelty-free. No product has any parabens, sulfates, phthalates, talc, formaldehyde, harsh chemicals, or residues. As such, the pet care line is vegan and safe to use for your pup, with no concern if Fido gets a wee bit in their mouth during bathtime.

    Where is UNITE Hair Produced?

UNITE Hair is an all-American product, with each ingredient made here in the States. The pet care line contributes 100% of its net proceeds to two amazing USA nonprofit organizations as well, Shelter to Soldier and SD Humane Society.

    Cleanliness and Longevity

I only wash my pup once every two weeks, and this shampoo lasts well into the two-week mark. She still smells like the shampoo right before her week two bath! Her coat remained clean, shiny, soft, and quite puffed (in the best way), and there was no skin irritation during the entire length of time.

The detangler was used nearly every day, and it didn’t add any buildup or cause dirt to stick more. My pup remained clean and untangled throughout the entire two weeks. I believe this shampoo and detangler could last even longer, but we have a two-week bath routine so I wasn’t able to find out.

    Charitable Contribution

UNITE Hair has partnered with both the Shelter to Soldier and SD Humane Society, donating 100% of the net proceeds from the DOGGY’POO line to helping homeless pets in need. To date, UNITE Hair has raised $350,000.00 for these incredible nonprofit organizations! Every purchase of their dog collections contributes to this.

Our Reviews of the UNITE Hair DOGGY’POO Products We Received

    1. DOGGY’POO Shampoo

    Unite hair DOGGY'POO Shampoo

The DOGGY’POO Shampoo comes in a 16-oz bottle, so it will last a good amount of time in that size. Not a lot is needed for your pup; the shampoo lathers and suds up quite quickly—coating the entire pup takes no time at all! With the natural ingredients that make up the shampoo’s concoction, even very sensitive and allergenic pups should have no problem at all. There are no harsh chemicals included, just natural, vegan ingredients. The result is silky, soft, and healthy fur, as the shampoo is intended to also repair damaged fur areas.

    Pros
    • Soothing, natural ingredients
    • Short drying time
    • Leaves fur feeling soft
    • No itching or burning
    • Vegan
    Cons
    • Pricy

    2. DOGGY’POO Detangler

    Unite hair DOGGY'POO Detangler

A simple spray to use between washes, the DOGGY’POO Detangler is a great way to speed up the brushing time of longer-haired pups! This product substitutes the use of conditioner, as it is a leave-in conditioner that helps naturally detangle knots. The detangler is completely vegan and made up of ingredients that are easy to understand and trust. There is no concern about product build-up, so the DOGGY’POO Detangler can be used as many times as needed. The soft ginger lily smell leaves your pup fresh!

    Pros
    • Clean scent
    • Safe, vegan ingredients
    • Helps detangle long coats
    • No product buildup
    • Helps repair fur
    Cons
    • Only one size

    Our Experience With UNITE Hair

Unite hair product in woman;s hand

To preface, my pup has a lot of skin-health issues; Lorelei was rescued from the local animal shelter about eight years ago, having been found abandoned on the streets of downtown. Her severe malnutrition contributed to ongoing skin problems that I have spent years keeping well-managed. To add to the problem, she’s a long-haired dog, so keeping her coat nice as also a challenge.

She was once on a medicated shampoo but I was able to wean her off of that overtime because I really didn’t like the condition her coat was in afterward – it felt dry and bristly. When I took her off of it, the ingredients in the shampoo I used became of utmost importance, as I had to make sure her rashes and dermatitis didn’t come back.

When the UNITE Hair package arrived, featuring both the DOGGY’POO Shampoo and the DOGGY’POO Detangler, I checked the ingredients first. I was happy to report that everything used was what I used in my own hair, even oatmeal and argon oil! Oatmeal is an old remedy to soothe allergenic, irritated, and inflamed skin (perfect for my little dog) and I use argon oil on my own locks to keep the hair smooth and shiny. I was very eager to try both products!

But before even getting to that, I did want to make a note that the packaging was very nice – both products came well wrapped in a custom UNITE box, with a cute slogan on the lid: “CAUTION: These products are highly addictive”. I was very impressed at the size of both the shampoo bottle and the detangler; there is enough of both to last me quite a while! I bathe my dog once every two weeks, and this will definitely work for many, many bath times.

I filled my tub with warm water and put Lorelei in there, grabbing the shampoo on my way into the bathtub itself. Unfortunately, my bathroom isn’t large enough for a doggy tub, so I have to get into the bathtub with her). So, because I have to get in there myself as well, the shampoo definitely needs to be comfortable for my skin as well.

Upon opening the shampoo, I really liked the smell – it’s not very pungent and I could tell it wasn’t purposefully scented – it just smelled like, well, clean pup! It was very gentle on my own skin and I knew it would be on my dog too. The shampoo turned into suds very quickly and was so soft right off the bat in her coat. It took no time at all to cover my entire dog’s coat and very little time to rinse out as well. Even upon rinsing I could feel how much it conditioned Lorelei’s fur, especially the long fur on her tail.

I wrapped her up in a towel (a pup-burrito, as I call it!) and towel-dried her to start. She was practically dry when I finally took the towel away! This has never happened before with a shampoo I had used on Lorelei. I then took a brush and began brush-drying her. She dried faster than I had ever experienced, 10 minutes of brushing and she was almost entirely dry. A big part of maintaining her skin condition is ensuring she isn’t left wet, as the wetness causes the skin rashes to come back. I blow-dried the few little spots that remained wet, and she was a completely fluffy sheep in under 20 minutes.

Once she was dry and I had to comb her fur, I sprayed the detangler – especially on her long tail. The mist was soft, and the smell was pleasant and not too strong. I let it get into her coat for a few seconds and then ran the comb through – it moved smoothly and didn’t get caught anywhere. Lorelei enjoyed that a lot more than me having to handpick any tangles!

The result of both products was a soft and silky coat, with skin that felt very well moisturized. This effect lasted for well over a week, definitely until her next bathtime.

    Conclusion

I was so thrilled with how both the shampoo and detangler worked on my pup – she was easy to brush for days afterward, kept the clean smell, and didn’t have any irritated skin! I would recommend this duo to any dog owner I know – we’ll be using UNITE time and time again.
