I rercently had a hurty paw which I told my parents about on an early Saturday mornin\' . Mommy immediately thought to herself \"oh no another fox-tail\" so she immediately called our \"regular\" very established vet but was told I could not been seen until Tuesday afternoon. Our vet did apologize and directed mom to call two other vet\'s in the area. First Vet (yet another well established practice) also said I couldn\'t be seen until the followin\' week...Considerin\' the fact that I couldn\'t even walk on it mom called the \"new kid on the block\" Dr. Asfaneh Nia whose only been open for about 6 months. We were immediately given a 12 noon appointment by the very nice lady on the phone. Upon enterin\' the new Dr\'s office my parents immediately felt at ease with the kind greetin\' we received. Once I was called into the examination room by the Vet Tech, I myself felt quite at ease at the wonderful and gentle attention I received. Once the Dr. came into I found I like her too! Dr. Nia gave my parents some great information about allergies and also the proper method to administer my ear drops (which we never had been told before) She confirmed my mommy\'s diagnosis it was yet another fox tail that got wedged between my nail and Dr. Nia said she could ease my pain immediately, my parents were given a estimate of the operation so there wouldn\'t be any heart aches in the waitin\' room. My dad put me in a cage with a few other pups (not the same cage of course) and then my parents were given the \"tour\" of the animal hospital by the Vet Tech (cwap I wish I could remember name she was quite nice). My parents found the premises immaculate and all the peeps they encountered were very nice. My parents left me about 2 hours and when they picked me up Dr. Nia offered them the itsy bitsy fox-tail that she had removed (of course mom was grossed out so dad said no (bol). Dr. Nia also checked my ears for infection and clipped my nails at no charge when I was \'under\". On Monday mornin\' mom received a call checkin\' on how I was doin\' (just fine thankyou). On the followin\' Saturday they called to set up a recheck and dad took me back to the nice Dr. and I was given a clean bill of health. Oh yes and believe it or not my follow up appoint was free of charge...Hot Diggity Dawg did that ever please my parents. So my mom has decided to call my \"regular\" vet and inquire about when I\'m due for my vacinations and then make Dr. Nia my permanent doctor! I liked her very much and I\'m sure you will too...posted: August 24th, 2008
Cool shop which features the strange but probably ingenius invention the Yap Wrap. It's a soft harness for small dogs that utilizes a d-ring for the leash and has a "handle" on it! I've never personally tried one on but they seemed to be garnishin' a lot of attention from the tourists! This nice shop also carries sportswear, jewelry & couture items which are pretty dang crazy to me, but then again I's a mutt! Fun store we didn't buy anythin' but it was fun to be in tourist land here in SF...Oops don't forget to sit in the square and people & dog watch at the Chocolate Factory!posted: September 26th, 2007
About one acre park that was not fenced in when we went last year. No fence, duh...Doesn't make a whole lotta sense!
It looks awfully nice but it's too small and kinda creepy people hang out there! Mom says we won't be back...
We went for an early mornin' breakfast.....
and it was okay my parents say. They gots a nice umbrella covered patio that's pup-friendly and it wasn't too crowded in the early a.m. My parents both had a "quasi" benedict with ham & jack it was okay but then again they weren't doin' any back-flips. In actuality I was quite pleased with the place cuz there were leftovers for me!
Mommy & Daddy
which also has a lovely side patio that's pup friendly. I like the chips and whatever I can scrounge off my parents. They usually get a pitcher (yes a big pitcher) of Original Margaritas on the rocks along with the Sampler Platter. This place seems like more of a local hangout than really touristy and it's right across the street from Bouchon (see my other review), and near some fun shops!posted: September 24th, 2007
VERY VERY EXPENSIVE
This is the "less expensive" cousin of the famed French Laundry restaurant of Thomas Keller. Mommy & daddy had eaten here once before and were somewhat turned off by the the noise & cramped seatin' but nevertheless had an enjoyable meal. We were in the area recently and were happy to find out that their few outside tables which are street side also happen to be dog-friendly. It's much quieter outside and we were lucky to nab a table without a reservation. Mom had the Mussels & Fries and daddy had the Steak and Fries and they had Profiteroles for dessert everythin' was absolutely delicious which I can attest to. Mommy and daddy were somewhat aghast when the bill came the prices havin' increased dramatically since their last visit. I don't think I'll be dinin' there in the near future again but it most certainly was a quite memorable experience~posted: September 24th, 2007
A fun store with quirky gifts .....
that jus happens to have nice outdoor dinin\' right on the Napa River. Mom & dad very much enjoyed their Asian salads (chinese chicken & shrimp noodle) along with a great cold beer they had a lovely time and heck so did I!
Nice large streetside patio with umbrellas & heaters. Fun atomsphere for people watchin\'. Mom & Dad likes the Gorgonzola Salad and the Margherita Pizza. I likes the thin Pizza crust big time!
A pup friendly patio which serves absolutely delicious breakfasts. Daddy loves their pancakes & benedicts, mommy is not the biggest breakfast fan but very much enjoyed her eggs & home-fries. The small patio is on the side of the restaurant with a few tables and a couple of benches and a few umbrellas. If your not going in the Indian Summer months you'll probably freeze your butts off! Very good food with amble portions, I got some I should know!
Great casual restaurant on the main drag in Pacific Grove and right up the street from Lover\'s Point. Most of the seatin\' is outdoors (pet friendly) and they have a big fireplace for those cool coastal nights. My parents were very surprised by the quality of the food and me I likes it pretty good too! The staff and patrons are very friendly, an all around good time for all...
Tiny hard to find restaurant with a pup friendly patio that serves vey good dim-sum. My mommy is not a big chinese food fan but absolutely adores their offerin\'s....Mom even said she'd try somethin' other than the dim-sum and that's sayin' somethin' for her! Very crowded inside and noisy but the patio was quite nice.posted: September 16th, 2007
This is kinda like Italian fast food served in an open-air cafe inside a mall (pups are welcomed)...My parents just stopped in for a quick nibble and they said once was enough...This place is supposedly the oldest restaurant in Carmel and we wonder why it's still open...Not very good, not very good at all!
Jack London's is located in a quaint court right in the middle of town. They have nice outdoor tables in the court which welcomes pups like you and me. Mommy & Daddy were not expectin' the food to be that good and they were right....It was absolutely delicious~ They shared Shrimp Remoulade and the spicy stuffed mushrooms, they loved it and so did I...I didn't get lotsa nibbles but what I did sample was very very good, to me! They have quite a few beers on tap and my parents sampled quite a few which were yummy too! Highly recommened my parents are anxious to try it for dinner too!
I don't belive this Inn accepts pets in any of it's 8 rooms!
Beautiful dog friendly patio seatin' overlookin' the Foster City Waterway. My parents say the margarita's suck (have a beer), the warm thin crisp chips and salsa are addicitve. Unfortunatley that's the only good thing about this restaurant. The food is very average and the staff is not very well trained. My favorite thing is all the attention I get on the patio and the fact that there's usually some highly attractive pups on the patio too!
Wonderful waterside sittin' on the dog friendly patio overlookin' the Foster City waterways/homes. The staff is very pleasant and the food is decent enough. My parents shared the blue cheese/pear salad, mommy had the roasted mussel appetizer and daddy had the Petrale Sole and we all enjoyed it. Lets just say it wasn't to die for, but decent nonetheless....The waterfront dinin' is the biggest plus here, very nice indeed~posted: September 13th, 2007
I don't really remember why we were down here but we were and daddy was dyin' for a burger (when isn't he) so we stopped here cuz mommy had heard it was decent. Daddy liked his big burger w/blue cheese and mommy & I nibbled on fries (they were kinda soggy) and she gave me a couple of licks of her milkshake (vanilla & quite tasty I'd say)...Mommy thought the food was a bit overpriced but I enjoyed the outdoor seatin' and daddy liked his burger just fine....It's okay, nothin' special and mommy probably won' t let us go back!posted: September 13th, 2007
Okay we were out in the Embarcadero bummin
on a Sunday afternoon and my parents (and me of course) got hungry. The host at Chevy's said my parents could carry me thru the restaurant (waaay embarrassin', ya know I'm not gonna lift my leg on nothin'...duh) and grab a bite on the outside patio. Well this patio is very busy on the weenends and we scrunched into a table around all kinds of drunks celebratin' who knows what...Mom & Dad ordered margaritas and said they tasted like lime koolaid...The bus-person brought me a bowl of water and ice and I enjoyed it very much, 'specially with the delicious thin warm chips & salsa (the peeps liked this stuff too)...Next came our appetizers, mini tamales (not so hot), guacamole & tortillas (had much better elsewhere) & empanadas which my parents (and I) really really enjoyed in fact we got 2 orders...The prices were a little high for the quality of the food but it was a beautiful day and we had fun baskin' in the shaded (thank god) sunshine! Probably wouldn't go back unless we were starvin' to death!posted: September 13th, 2007
The peeps here are sure super dog friendly. I was gettin' pets all over the dang place (except the mens department I thinks the salesmen were jealous that the girls were lookin' at me and not them). They even have an assortment of Juicy Couture Puppy stuff that's cute but a little too pricey for my cheap parents! I love it here, you will too...
The peeps here are super friendly to us pups and mommy just adores the shoe department and the fashion sales they frequently have. Daddy likes sittin' in the chair with me on his lap cuz all the ladies go gaga over me. I like it here and they likes me too!
Beautiful store, stuck-up employees, vast array of merchandise at drop-your-jaw prices. We went at Christmas time to look at the windows stepped inside to take the chill off and were looked up and down as if we were undesirable transients. We didn't like this place at all the Stanford store is much friendlier!posted: September 13th, 2007
You better be sure your parents.....
send ya to the beauty salon before hittin' Saks' cuz the peeps there are sooo hoity-toity and snobby that they were even givin' me the evil-eye cuz I wasn't coiffed as perfectly as they would have wanted. My parents and I went at Christmas time the windows were pretty but the peep and prices are waaaay insane!
I got to go to Macy's at Christmas time when they had all the adoptive animals in their windows. Mommy & Daddy took me inside the store and were surprised that I didn't raise any eyebrows with the employees. They had an extensive Pet Boutique on the first floor that was super-swell. I very much enjoyed the nice peeps in Macy's!
This brew pub is located on the end of a shoppin' mall and it has a nice dog friendly patio in front. The menu sounds impressive but the food does not measure up to the price you pay for it. Mommy & Daddy didn't find the beers very excitin' either.....I don't think we're' goin' back any time soon but then again we don't live anywhere near this place so maybe we just hit it on a bad day!posted: September 12th, 2007
Beautiful shady courtyard that welcomes pups....
I loved this place the bread is to freakin' die for (bread if you don't already know is my absolute fav)...I gots my own chair to sit on and kicked back on a lovely cool summer evenin' and shared some yummies with my parents....They gots this really good pizza that has dates and gorgonzola on it (wonderful). We also had a Caesar, fresh mozzarella and Fried Calamari & Shirmp..Very Very delicious, fer sure! Go here you'll like it and they treat us pups quite nicely...posted: September 10th, 2007

Nice dog friendly outside patio but....
my parents say the food is just okay and the prices are very high for the quality of the food. The place is always packed my parents say they must all be drunk from wine-tastin' and want to continue their glow...Won't go back, my parents didn't even let me eat much of their un-eaten food. Avoid it there are plently of expensive good restaurants in the Valley worth spendin' your bucks on!posted: September 10th, 2007
Great pet friendly patio with lotsa crazy people to give you lotsa attention....
I likes this place a lot...It's located right outside the Presidio gate and usually parkin' is not too bad! I likes everythin' my parents eat; mommy got the escargot & onion soup and daddy as usual the GIGANTIC cheeseburger & shoestring taters (yum yum yum)... I likes this place plenty but mommy & dadd says it's kinda expensive (really I don't care about that)! Paws up.....posted: September 10th, 2007
Sidewalk Seatin' welcomes pups and....
so does the yummy food. Everythin' is made fresh daily and one taste makes this all evident. Luscious baked goods like breads, pastries & cookies are not to be missed. Also their breakfast items are delicious too, like the soft scrambles and breakfast pizzas (mommy loves the smoked salmon one **me too**)...Highly recommended even tho the sidewalk seatin' is kinda tight but then again I gets my own chair, so what the heck!
We stayed at the Buckeye cottage....
and it was super-duper fun & lovely too! Nicely but sparsely decorated rooms with panoramic views from every room in the cottage. We had a full kitchen and beautiful bathroom that mommy adored! The cottage is situated on a large parcel of open-space with a pond if you pups like to swim and stuff. There are many types of wild animals that just happen to pass by so be sure your pups are well trained to come when called (like I'm not~) Me and my family loved the peacefulness and luxury of this cottage, it comes very highly recommended by all of us!
Dined at the Dog friendly patio (no frills just a patio)
but had to be carried thru the restaurant to reach it. Mommy & Dadd felt kinda awkward (I didn\'t give a hoot) but hurried me thru the dinin\' room nevertheless...Me I likes the chips & Guacamole, daddy likes the Chicken Enchiladas Rancheros & mommy likes anythin\' fish...The food is solid although the prices, \'specially for the fish specials mommy gets are VERY high....Beware the patio can be very cold so be sure to bundle up cuz ya ain\'t gonna gets no sunshine out there! I liked it fine and my parents go more often at dinner time without me....
Dog friendly sidewalk seatin'...
On bustlin' Bridgeway in touristy Sausalito...My parents stop here for a latte & mocha and usually share (with me too) some yummy Italian pastries and/or cookies! Not a lot of room at the tables but that means plenty of attention from the shoppers walkin' by....I likes it fine!
Nice Dog Friendly patio....
serviin' pretty dang decent food! Daddy as usual likes their hamburger & fries and mommy likes the fries with brie & apples (yum yum she usually shares with me!) Usually very crowded on the weekends but pretty nice nevertheless....posted: September 10th, 2007
Pups are welcomed at their outside seatin'.....
and the food is VERY yummy if I do say so myself! Daddy likes the Blue Cheese Burger (me too) and mommy likes the trout salad and the salmon burger with this addictive chipolte aioli on top (makes me truly drool). Highly recommended 'specially if your peeps let you share!
Adjacent to the Point Reyes National Seashore....
This lovely cottage has a private and secluded deck & garden which also houses an outside hot-tub. The cottage itself has a very open feelin' due to the numerous windows & skylight. There is a cute woodstove/fireplace which is also used as the sole heatin' source. The cottage is very nicely furnished and also has a stocked kitchen. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will definitely be back!posted: September 10th, 2007
We spent two nights in the Kings Room and it was quite a nice visit. The Tree House has only 3 units and they are small but clean & nicely appointed. We stayed in the Kings room which had a fireplace and lovely deck on which we ate yummy food bought in town and marveled at the scenic views. Mom & Dad can't seem to remember the pet charge (if there was any)....
My parents and I stayed in the Bungalow Cottage which is very private and has dramatic ocean views. The decor is rustic but lovely nonetheless. The couple runnin' the Inn were quite friendly & accomadatin' and there was a wonderful full breakfast and wine & chesse each evenin'....Very nice, very nice indeed!
My parents were in the area and didn't feel like drivin' home and didn't want to put a dent in their wallets either. They inquired as to whether I'd be welcomed and the front desk person said I would. They asked to check a couple of rooms and left. They said that Best Western ought to get some big-wigs out here and check this place out. Not good...Not good at all, even for the price! Needless to say we drove home.
My parents and I stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage with a full kitchen and private deck. Nothin' fancy but not bad at all. You're only a short walk into town & the river....Oops almost forgot you get a decent extended continental breakfast too!posted: August 31st, 2007
Me and my parents really enjoyed this store but unfortunately they bought me a couple of tee-shirts I hate them but I likes this store! Oh yes and they gave me a yummy treat too. It was good but I'm not sure if it's worth the humiliation of wearin' the dang tee-shirts tho...
Nothin' special really and the prices are much too high for the mediocre assortment they offer.
I was very welcomed on the lovely patio one evenin' and me and my parents very much enjoyed the wonderful small plate options. Fun to order a bunch and share (don't forget us pups too). Me and my parents enjoyed the Seafood Cerviche, Crab Cakes, french fries with goat cheese and the cheese platter. They make fun cocktails that really gave my parents a buzz! Great fun & atmosphere...Highly recommended.
They only serve sustainably sourced food
in which the highlight of the entree is the glorious fresh ingredients. The gardens & outdoor dinin' area is beautiful and I felt very welcomed. My parents love their fresh unique salads and cheese platters. Yum I likes their cheeses big time!
This park has lots for the peeps to do and a nice grassy fenced in area that seems to be really popular with small pups. I liked it very much and my parents were happy to find shady areas there too!
Beautiful dog friendly winery right near the trustle bridge in Healdsburg. Pups are not only allowed in the beautiful gardens & picnic area but in the tastin' rooms too!
Look for the Red Corvette in front of this winery...
that is as dog friendly as it is people friendly! This place was super cool and they just adored me visitin' them. They offer tastin's of a couple of small boutique wineries in the area. My parents and I both felt at home and welcomed!posted: August 31st, 2007
Vast assortment of foods & supplies at somewhat high prices. Maybe my mom's a little cheap but she can find the same products for a lot less so why buy here, right!
They have a large heated patio and they are very dog friendly! My parents had the Calamari Mix & Grilled Mussels and shared a delicous roasted beet salad. I gots quite a bit of nibbles and I agree with them it was pretty dang good! Daddy LOVES the Strawberry shortcake too...I very much enjoyed Hurleys I very much recommend it!posted: August 30th, 2007

This is a VERY busy Micro-brewery which serves pretty dang good food too. There is live music and very nice dog-friendly patio seatin'. On colder days be sure to sit on the heated patio, nice and toasty. My mom enjoys the Spinach & Shrimp salad and the Cheese & Bread platter which serves many peeps (and you too if your lucky....Yum bread it's my favorite). Dad very much enjoyed the Cheeseburger & fries and I likes them too! Great beers be adventuresome and try a couple different ones! I likes this place they brought me water and fawned over me too!
Incredibly Beautiful Heated Patios....
servin' the most incredible FRESH pasta's imaginable. My mom (and I cuz I gets to share) love the Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare (magnificent) and dad loves the Margherita and Fig Pizza (delicious crusts ALWAYS). Desserts are to die for too! Mom adores the Lemon Puddin' Cake and daddy always enjoys the Creme Brulee. This place is a MUST for all Napa Valley travelers and residents alike! DON'T MISS IT....

Beautiful Oceanfront views....
from the dog friendly large patio which is ALWAYS packed. My parents say it's way too expensive for the quality of the food. If you like gettin' drunk on the patio it's a fun place to go they even provide blankets on cold & windy days. Oh yeah it's supposed to be haunted but we didn't see no dang ghost!
Mom & dad LOVE their French Onion soup & paninni sandwiches! they gots a few tables just be sure it's not summertime cuz you'll fry fer sure!
Usually VERY crowded....
They have a nice outdoor seatin' area and I like to go there cuz I gets my "fix" for ham & cheese croissants there! Yum Yum Yum...My parents say the place is very clean and that it's obvious that the baked goods are made freshly each day! Check it out if you gets an entree they'll be extra big so beware....posted: August 30th, 2007
The dog friendly patio is right in front of the restaurant and fronts right on Hwy 1. The service is limited, the portions are big & fattenin'....I had some of dad's burger and to me it was super-yummy! Gets awfully cold & hot on the patio dependin' on the season.
Lotsa free roamin' pups kinda scary big ones too! Mom hated the place, dad wasn't too keen on it and I could pass too! Cheap rates for the area, should have known better.
We went to their Sunday brunch on the outdoor deck which overlooks the Russian River it was tasty but VERY crowded. The surroundin's somewhat overshadowed the food tho.
This is restaurant is VERY casual but the food is far from that. Wonderful freshly prepared entrees like grilled salmon & portabella mushrooms ( I gots some and they were to die for)! If you blink you'll miss it in this very tiny hamlet so make sure you keep your eyes open.
Ready for this.....
you gots your own dang beach and a stream to romp thru (although I don't likes to get wet but somepups would love it fer sure). My parents loved the furnishin's and the hot tub and when my parents are super happy so am I! I love this place it's VERY private kinda like heaven on earth for both the peeps & pups!
Quiet river front location on the Russian River with a path to Mother's Beach (yay). This house comes fully loaded and has a kitchen, fireplace. hot tub and cool river side deck for dinin' with mother nature. I loved this place cuz it's got a fenced in area for me to play in which makes my parents feel very secure...A great place, indeed!posted: August 30th, 2007
Oceanfront ranch bordered by incredible mountains, redwoods & miles of amazin' beaches. We stayed in the Beach House which is a very private redwood cottage just steps from the ocean. My parents and I enjoyed the fireplace, relaxin' on the deck and the private jacuzzi. There are farm animals and beautiful gardens too! My parents packed on the pounds enjoyin' the daily full farmers breakfast each mornin'.....This is an incredible place for pups but they prefer if you'd stay off the quilts of course!posted: August 30th, 2007
We stayed in a garden suite here durin' the off-season (at a much reduced rate but it nevertheless broke my parents for the entire month) which was unbelievably elegant and comfortable. This place has everythin' you'd ever need but at a substancial cost. When you check in already in your room are your very own pet-bed (wouldn't use it didn't let the hotel know) & elegant doggie bowls. They also serve these yummilicous organic bones that are made 'specially for the hotel. This place is the absolute ultimate if you're friggin' rich!posted: August 30th, 2007

We stayed in a beautiful furnished room in the Carriage house that had a fireplace & whirlpool bath (mom and dad wouldn't let me get in it unfortunately but it looked super-soothin'). They gots spa services too but they would "do" me for some reason. They gots very lovely gardens and a full breakfast was served to my parents which they said was super yummy! They serve afternoon refreshments and all non-alcoholic beverages are free. Very nice but pretty fancy-dancy so some-pups might not like to so much!
Pups can eat with their parents on one of two or three tiny tables right on the sidewalk on bustin' Burlingame Avenue. My parents said the food was mediocre and the prices were high based on the quality of the food. Guess we're not goin' back there!
'They claim they're pet friendly....
and they charge $50 a day for us on Beach-side rooms AND they charge you to park too! The rooms are situated right on Del Monte Beach which is nice, but they are just average rooms with a bed, TV & a view....posted: August 27th, 2007
in a quiet location that's extremely dog friendly. We stayed in a suite cottage with a fireplace & full kitchen. Nice clean but mom says nothin' to rave about. Now as for me I LOVED IT cuz they gots this cool yard area where us pups can run around carefree - super fun! It's also within walkin' distance to Asilomar Beach which is also dog friendly. I liked it but I don't think mom wants to go back - nice - just not nice enough for her! Shucks I really enjoyed it....
In the American Tin Cannery.....
The patio is located on a VERY NOISY corner near the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which makes for a not so pleasant experience. The food is nothin' special and really not that inexpensive for the quality of it. This is a place for tourists who really don't know what good food tastes like~posted: August 27th, 2007
Very nice comforable pet friendly patio that my parents like to go to on I think Tuesday nights for their special House Margarita & Taco for like $5.00. Pretty dang good are them tacos and my parents like the boozy stuff too!
Nothin' too fancy about this place but it does serve yummy fresh berry pies. I believe they are open only for breakfast & lunch and their patio is pet friendly.
Very good organic vegetarian mexican food and the salads seemed geared toward Greek cuisine. Outdoor seatin' only and no alcohol is served. Tasty!
Dig Dig Dig.....
Super fun diggin' beach which is probably about a mile or so in length. Lotsa surfers and picnic-ers and people potties too! I don't thinks this is in Santa Barbara probably like around Carpenteria or somethin'...Very nice and very fun but you gots to stay on leash, which is a-ok with me!posted: August 24th, 2007

Just south of Santa Barbara
is this nice cafe that\'s in an large old house with a wrap around deck that welcomes pups to dine with their peeps. They serve nice large breakfasts and their lunch menu sounded yummy too. They kindly served me water & bones and gave me lotsa lovin\', I liked it alot and so did my parents!
Not Really A Dog Park but....
it's a beautiful scenic beach (pups not allowed) trail where you can walk and romp on the grass to your hearts content! The trail is about 3 miles long round-trip and has potty's for your parents!
Lovely Expansive Gardens...
highlightin\' indigenous California plants. Very much fun for pups cuz there\'s miles and miles of trails and we\'re very much welcomed there! Poop bags are provided and of course your required to use them! Not far from downtown, worth the 20 minute or so drive!
Lovely resort with every ammenity you could imagine.
VERY expensive hotel right across the beautiful Pacific. VERY expensive, courteous service, large rooms with balconies but near the dreaded train tracks of which all the beach hotels are unfortunately near. Not far from State Street with lots nice shops. Very pet friendly I likeded it very very much cuz they gave me goodies! 'Cept my parents wallets were empty for quite a few weeks afterwards!posted: August 24th, 2007
Nice outdoor patio with umbrella covered tables...
can be VERY windy since you're right near the bay...My mom likes the Calamari & Eggs and dad always has the Benedict with "plain" pancakes (the best he ever had, except for moms)...Oh yes and have your parents order you the Tukey sausage it's supposedly low-fat, all I know is that it is way yummy!
Your parents can hooch up....
and you can kick back on the nice patio at this beautiful stone winery. You're not allowed in the tastin' rooms but have your parents bring a picnic lunch (buy some wine here) and spend a leisurely day sunnin' yourself! Oh yeah my parents said they gots great wines at relatively reasonable prices.
I urge you if you're in the vicinity of Downtown Pacific Grove make a bee-line on Fountain and have your parents buy you the Sam's Yams Jerky...Even if you're a small pup like me have them get you the GIGANTIC ones, you'll be in doggie heaven with these yummy crack-like dehydrated sweet potatoes....Oh yeah and the staff and store are A-Ok too!
They Sell Doggie Crack here....
my parents and I were out and about in an unfamilar neighborhood and low and behold we came across this cool pet store that sells the most delicious crack you've very eaten in your whole entire life....Tilapia Jerky it's yummilicious, I guarantee you you'll be hooked on the stuff in no time! Oh yeah great assortment of pet supplies and a friendly staff make for a fun time!
Their website is an excellent resource for all kinds of pet information including care & training.posted: August 22nd, 2007
Expensive but lovely
room with a friendly staff that even gave me organic wine dog biscuits, can you beat that? My parents liked the place as much as I did. Oh yeah they gots a towel warmer too and my parents warmed me up a few to lay on durin' our winter stay! Way comfy!
Snag a sidewalk table and order the Seafood Salad (to die for)! They are famous for their Crepes & Bloody Mary's although my family is not of fan of either (not theirs just in general). Good stuff!
Poop EVERYWHERE! Ugh.....
VERY expensive diner food in the beautiful new SF Ferry Bldg. Pet friendly outdoor seatin' filled with tourists & kids in the summer. Very good Ahi Burger & Sweet Potato Fries but the prices are way outta line.
I agree with Dorothy this place is cool for pups! Beautiful views & mom & dad shared their fish tacos with me...Yum Yum!
A Fun Time on Fishermans Wharf....
Lou's has sidewalk seatin' on bustlin' SF Fishermans Wharf. The menu is varied with yummy appetizers (Jamacian Jerk Caesar), sandwiches (blackened snapper) & full entrees (haven't tried those yet) and after 4pm live jazz music which can be heard at the sidewalk tables. A good time for all dog, food & music lovers!
Me and my parents stayed in the Garden Cottage and it was super-cute! It's a two story room with a small deck which affords amazin' views. You get continental breakfast delivered to your room from their on-site restaurant. The grounds are very nice and pups are allowed in only a couple of the rooms but the daily charge is only $15 so that ain't half bad! A fun place in a very small town which is about 20 minutes south of Mendocino. Highly recommended!posted: August 17th, 2007
This water tower has 3 floors which are not easily accessible if you've got any limitations. The first floor is a kitchen (which is nicely stocked), living room and bedroom. On the second floor is the main bedroom with nice cushy comforters. The next floor is a small sittin' room with a small bed that maybe children might enjoy. The coolest part is the small balcony on the top of the tower which is reached via ladder, from here you have amazin' views of the town of Mendocino, Headlands Park and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. It's a super cool place to stay but be forwarned that there is no daily cleanin' service, so you gots to be on your bestest behavior! Super cool & fun place to stay! Oops almost forgot $35 per stay pet charge (not per day).posted: August 17th, 2007
This full service bakery serves the most delicious fresh baked breads on the coast (and I, George wuv's bread!). In fact everything here is fresh baked except for the yummy homemade soups. They now offer a full breakfast menu and very nice lunches consisting of sandwiches & salads which come with wonderful focaccia pockets. The outdoor unbrella covered seating is right on tourist & shopper friendly main street on the sidewalk so if you\'re a skittish type dog this may not be the place for you, it has very heavy foot traffic especially on weekends. Oh yes and if they have it try the Jalapeno Cheese Bread it\'s to die for!posted: August 17th, 2007
This unual property includes a restaurant, pub & Inn (pet's accepted not sure). They have a decent large patio with tables & benches. The menu offers Fish, Steaks & Pizza's and their hamburgers and shakes have been voted best on the coast. The pub serves a wide selection of beers considered some of the best on the coast. It's hard to miss since outside the property they have "numerous" English Buses parked on the property.
Standard Holiday Inn Budget Hotel right on Hwy One. The rooms are clean and simply decorated. They serve a pleasant continental breakfast in the lobby and accept only small dogs.posted: August 17th, 2007
right on Hwy One that offers clean basic rooms. No frills but is near beaches & wonderful restaurants.
Charming Bed & Breakfast
The rooms in the main house but nicely decorated in a country motif. The have private entrance suites which have kitchenettes, jacquzzi's and fireplaces. The newer section of the Inn is upstairs (overlooks Main Street) more "modern" but nevetheless quite nice. Oh and it's said that room 6 is ""inhabitated" by friendly spooks! Their breakfasts are made from the freshest ingredients and are delicious! Pets are very welcomed here and they even have a Pet Photo Book with pictures of previous guests (cats too so beware)!
They Finally Nailed the Sucker (again).....
This family owned pet store is no longer allowed to sell pets. They were nailed for the 2nd time for filthy conditions, dead animals & selling sick animals to unknowing customers. The owner did some jail time and is on probation for a lengthy period of time for this latest offense. They are only allowed to sell supplies and foods, but who in their right-mind would support such an establishment?
Don't know why my first review was removed....
but I found this place to be expensive and quite smelly. My last visit to check out prices on foods (omd way overpriced) I was entertained by the teenage employees yelling curse words across the store at each other. Very professional I must say!
would make you hate Greek food...It's a chain restaurant and is even worse than McDonalds! Mom wouldn't even let me try it..
You gots to...
sit at the couple of tables right on the sidewalk and the food really kinda sucks, that's what my mom says but it tasted okay to me! BOL
Dad likes it, mom doesn't...I like to eat mom's uneaten food on the patio! Probably won't be back because of mom...
Cramped outside patio tables, just so-so food and unbelievable prices. Don't waste your money go to Bowlicious in the mall instead!
Wouldn't go back and visit those "snots"!
Healthy and Delicious too!
All natural, fresh baked treats and pastries. I 'specially like the Apple Cakes and Strawberry Stars.

For the Stylish Peninsual Pups....
Boutique prices and a nice inventory of "couture" pet accessories. Their fresh baked treats are made of natural ingredients and are extra tasty!
Avoid on a Giant Game Day!
Very nice outdoor patio where you'll either roast or freeze your fuzzy arse off! The peeps here are way cool and always in the party mood. Me and my parents enjoy: Gorganzola Fries, Roasted Mussels & the Warm Bread Puddin' (with extra sauce for daddy please)! The views are spectacular!

The food is very good but the sidewalk tables are too small and you're like virtually right in the line of foot-traffic.
Stuck Up or Somethin
My parents have eaten inside here and decent so they "attempted" to take me here to their outside table and they said.."Yes, pups are welcomed but we're not servin' out here today"...It was a pleasant Sunday the sun was out and everythin' ; but they shooed us away...Look at me; I gorgeous are they nuts or somethin'!posted: February 25th, 2007
Eat At AT&T Park and you don
The Chophouse has a nice heated patio that serves up quality beef. $13 for a hamburger is sure 'spensive but it was sooo good when daddy shared a some nibbles with me! The Cubano Sandwich is quite tasty too! Be sure to bring lotsa money...You'll need it!posted: February 25th, 2007
Nice b ack patio that welcomes pups...
Have your parents share the BBQ Prawns, Chicken Pot Pie & some of their yummy cookies!
Ever had a fried olive?
I have and their yummilicious, all stuffed with cheese and all! My parents like the Asparagus Pasta, Bacon/Pork Loin & The Milkshake & Donuts for dessert! (donuts are very yummy to pets I must say)
I think pups are allowed on Monday Nights Only...
Heated patio with killer Steak Au Poirve, Spinach Salad & Challah Bread Puddin'. 5 stars if I could go there everyday!
Fantastic Enclosed Patio and
Wood burnin\' fireplace; is the best I can say about this Inn. We stayed in #7 (i think, the last room across from gardens) and the kitchen was bare bones, 1 set of silverware, mommy had to call for a bowl for my food and water and the staff is far from hospitible. But the large enclosed patio (almost as big as the room) is fantastic for pups & peeps! Off season rate make it more attractive but there really are a lot better pet friendly Inns to stay at!
Your own freakin' Horse Drawn Carriage! You'll see these cool carriages all over in Old Town and I'm not sure if they're all run by the same company but the one we took accepted pups! WAY COOL AND ROMANTIC!
pamperin' for pups! Mom wasn't crazy about the room really, but loved the way I was pampered!
Pups Welcome on the Patio
Heated for the cold, umbrella-ed for the heat with Ocean Views it's a cool place to dine. The Clam Chowder is excellent the fish is fresh but VERY expensive considerin' the portion sizes.
Not for Sunbathin'
This beach for us was kinda hard to find it's where the Noyo River empties into the ocean. It's kinda rocky and there's a lot of driftwood but if your pup truly enjoy "people-less" beach play they would enjoy it here. Oh I almost forget it's LEASHFREE!posted: February 25th, 2007
A Step Above Ice Cream...
Gelato...I love lickin' this stuff up at their sidewalk tables! They serve Italian food too but never tried that. Alvarado is right up from the Whart and has nice shops too for browsin'...posted: February 25th, 2007
Ge your fat on!
Located on the corner of the American Tin Cannery Outlet Stores and right across from the aquarium, Archie's is the place for Garlic Fries and HUGE Burgers! They gots a nice pet friendly patio and after lunch right across the street is the scenic pathway to Lovers Point (pups aren't allowed in the grassy area here)...
And great views add up to a fun dinin\' experience with your parents! Try the Grill Sampler which is an assortment of their most popular appetizers. They gots a reasonable Early Bird menu too!
They gots a few outdoor tables here so you can share the yummy Grilled Shrimp Tacos with your parents.
It's Chocolate but....
Your family can share the yummy ice cream with you! Nice outdoor pet friendly seatin' to share a wonderfully decadent sundae! Right on historic Cannery Row.
Breakfast with a view.
Adorable heated patio overlookin' the Monterey Bay. The Begniet's & Eggs Benedict & Coffee Drinks are very good. They'll make all pups feel extra special here!
If your a hikin' pup...
You'll love this Park. There's picnic areas, restrooms and miles & miles of hikin' trails through a forest. The views are spectucular! Oh yes and you MUST be leashed at all times!
Great for people & pup watchin'
The cute covered pet friendly patio is cuter here and the inside of the restaurant! They gots lotsa yummy food here like Prawn Linguini, Veal Piccata, Grilled Portabella's (yummy) & Budino for dessert! Try it you'll like it!
Dang do I ever enjoy this place!
They gots a cute patio here and are VERY welcomin' to us furry ones. I usually get lots a nibbles here cuz their food is fresh, healthy & oh so delicious! Some of my parents favorites are: The Red Beet Tart, Crab Wontons, Coconut Salmon, Spinach Risotto & the Flan..YUM YUM YUM!
Upscale Fashion Store....
Gone to the Dogs! Wilkes Bashford is an couture department store which recently opened on the ground floor of Carmel Plaza. To celebrate Carmel's affection for the Dog they have included a selection of designer dog collars to their inventory. Dang even Wilkes Bashford thinks we rock!
Big Menu, Good Prices & Tasty.
Allegro has a few tables outside their restaurant that unfortunately overlook the Barnyard parkin' lot but they treated me good so who cares, right! They serve a somewhat California version of pizza that actually tastes pretty dang good (my parents let me eat some crust). They also have tasy pasta's, soups and salads here too. The staff is way friendly but we only wish we didn't have to overlook the dang parkin' lot.posted: February 24th, 2007
Nice small private patio...
That's really really chilly on most days (carmel=fog). My parents seemed pleasantly surprised by the value for the quality of the food. They enjoyed the Seared Asparagus, Seafood Penne and the Filet Mignon. The waitstaff was pleasant which also made for a lovely lunch. It's yummy but be sure your parents bring your jacket!
Chilly Chilly Patio.
There is a small no-frills patio behind the restaurant in a small courtyard. They really don't bend over backwards to make us pups feel welcomed but then again the waitstaff wasn't too friendly with my parents either. The food is pretty good, dad loved his turkey sammie with spinach pesto, tomatoes and gouda on focaccia (he REALLY liked it). Mom had the Blue Crab Risotto but thought it was a little TOO rich for her tastes. They serve beer and wine (and daddy & mommy seemed to enjoy that too)!posted: February 24th, 2007
Breakfast is served all day at Katy's and pups are welcomed on their lovely raised patio. My parents are mad about the Eggs Benedicts prepared with all kinds of stuff like crab, lobster, smoked salmon, prawns and the (regular) ham which is dad's favorite. Their waflles also rock especially the pecan and strawberry ones. This is good good munchin' for pups too!posted: February 24th, 2007
Very Fresh and Yummy!
"Hidden" in the lower level of the beautiful Barnyard, From Scratch prepares wonderful breakfasts (great eggs benedict) and light lunches and dinners. Everything as the name implies is made from scratch and you certainly will appreciate that while dining. The cute patio is pet friendly but be sure your family brings you a jacket cuz it can get pretty chilly here!
The Waiters Like Pups!
Nice relatively large pet friendly patio that serves pretty darn good breakfast food. Okay they serve lunch and dinner too but I've only been to breakfast here. My parents always have the Eggs Benedict w/OJ and splits of Champagne. They really seem to get a "glow on" at this breakfast which means that I most likely will be gettin' goodies at the pet boutiques in town...Ain't Champage great!posted: February 23rd, 2007
Great for people and pup watchin
Located on the lower level of Carmel Plaza surrounded by boutque style shops and lovely gardens is this "New York Style" deli. You can't beat the ambience of the outdoor seatin' area, which is always full of pups and the food ain't bad either. My family likes the Pea Soup, Potato Pancakes and the Pastrami on Rye. They also gots lotsa of fun sandwiches named after famous people. This is definitely a place to scrounge for your neighbors crumbs!posted: February 23rd, 2007
Incrdible Views & Fun Too!
Southeast of the Golden Gate Bridge is the newly renovated Crissy Field Park. There's lots of paved walkways, grassy fields & beaches. There are areas that require a leash and areas that don't, but since I don't go off leash I'm not sure what they are. Nevertheless this place rocks!

A Day Trip With Dad.
Fort Point right under the Golden Gate is a cool place to accompany your dad on fishin' trips. When you get bored you can have dad walk you up and down the bay to watch the wind-surfers. Small pups make sure to dress warm cuz it's waaay chilly out there!
Everypup that lives here in the beautiful Bay Area deserves to experience the 2 mile walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. The views of the bay and city are awe inspirin'. For small pups like myself I have a word of warnin' when it's extra extra windy like it usually always is ya better have someone carry you cuz your apt to become airborne!
Us pups are allowed to accompany our parents at the right field viewin' deck at the waters edge, for a few minutes to watch the game for free! Then usually around August they hold a Dog Days of Summer Game where peeps and their pooches are allowed in the bleachers...We went last year and it was a totally blast!
Why is this place still open?
Just a few very small tables right on the sidewalk outside what looks like a cute Italian restaurant. My parents thought the food sucked and so did I!
What did you say mom?
Two separate fenced in grassy areas for large and small dogs. It would be okay here if you didn't go deaf every 10 minutes from the planes departing and arriving at nearby San Francisco Airport.

Don't really like it here!
Really not much sand to play in and the little bit of sand that's there is filled with all kinds of rocks. You must be leashed and it sucks!posted: February 23rd, 2007
Now this is a beach!
Just opposite the small town of Davenport which is 10 miles north of Santa Cruz is this absolutely beautiful beach which requires that pets be leashed. Mom & Dad like it here too!
The Largest Beach in San Francisco.
4 miles of yucky sand and garbage. There's both on and off leash areas and I don't really care to find where either begins or ends. Oh yes my mom hates this beach even more than me!
Not my cup of kibble.
This is a small off leash beach below the Lands End Apartments. The big dogs are way too scary for me!
Fun Fun Fun
Very nice beach surfer and fishermen beach that is very clean and has great sand to dig in. There are two access points to this beach and they both have VERY steep staircases. Oops almost forgot you "should" be leashed!posted: February 23rd, 2007

Dining on the water.
Aldo's is built over the water in the Santa Cruz Harbor. They have a nice roomy patio which is very dog friendly. Serving famous breakfasts thru dinner this is a popular establishment which has been in operation for many decades by the same family. Fresh baked focaccia bread, homemade pastas and the freshest of seafood make for a nice dinin' experience.
You are required to be leashed on this beach which is just south of the Santa Cruz Harbor (okay with me), and there are outdoor showers and restrooms nearby.
Seabright is just south of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Pups must be leashed which is a-ok with me.
Lively & Delicious
There is a pup friendly patio in front of Left Bank, it's awning covered and you sit up and back from the sidewalk. My parents like the Spinach, pecan & blue chesse salad, Onion Soup, Steamed Mussels, Croque-Monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich), Pommes Frites (french fries) and the mini Profiterole's for dessert. You sit right outside of the bustlin' bar area and the people watchin' is way fun too!
This is definitely a surfers beach since the waves are the best part of it. Pups are welcomed but must be on-leash and if you don't clean up and there's a Pacifican there you'll get you butt chewed off! The beach is a wide crescent shape and the sand is not very soft, but what the heck ya get on a long leash and GO FOR IT! There's a newly paved large parking lot for the beach along with new restrooms and showers. My auntie lives across the hwy from the beach and loves to watch the surfers change their wet-suits **blush**. At the north end of the beach there's a new mile long windy and hilly walkin' path that will really get your blood pumpin'. Oh and I forget to mention that there's a walk up window on the beach to what's recognized as the "One of the Most Beautiful Fast Food Restaurants in the Country" it's a Taco Bell with an incredible view!posted: February 23rd, 2007
Pasta Moon is housed in a covered open-air shoppin' complex with upscale stores and artisans. The pet friendly tables are the two inside the complex and the two outside on the sidewalk, and the wait-staff is always pleased to see you! Here's you'll find the finest organic produce, hand-made-hand-cut pastas, seafood flown in from all over the world and prime meats and poultry. One of their bus-persons makes the delicious dark bread (did I mention I love bread?) served with olive oil and balsamic and it's to die for. My family has never had anything on the menu that wasn't good but one of their favorite meals is: Steamed PEI Mussels, Caesar Salad w/anchovies, and any one of their marvelous thin crust pizzas. Their fresh pasta dishes are not to be missed nor are their yummy desserts. An all Italian wine list is on the pricey side, but heck you didn't come here to economize did you? Oh forgot to mention Kim the owner what a lovely sweetheart she is!posted: February 23rd, 2007
Planes & Good Food Too
My Uncle Lenny keeps his plane here at the Half Moon Bay Airport so I've had the pleasure to dine here a few times. It's really nothin' to look at inside or out but Three Zero is a perennial winner of "Best Breakfast on the Coast" and heck their burgers are dang good too. It maybe an unusual location but hey the peeps are friendly and the food in very good. Oh yes if you go say hi to my Uncle Lenny!
Go for the food.
Pups are welcomed at their outside tables, but unfortunately you just kinda sit outside of the restaurant at sidewalk tables. This side of the strip mall is not busy (except for this bustlin' noisy restaurant) so you don't have to worry about the peeps steppin' on your paws! As for the food it's really very yummy: fresh baked foccacia, pizza's, salads and great pasta entrees. Word of warning you're not really protected from the elements and the weather in Half Moon Bay can change drastically in the blink of an eye. Cross the bridge to Main Street and window shop after your lunch!
Laid back and delicious.
They have a great selection of exotic teas, unusual coffee drinks, sandwiches, soups, and pastries. There's a nice size pet friendly patio where you can either freeze your fuzzy arse off or bask in the lovely sunshine.
Get your fat on!
Incredibly delicious baked goods with a full service restaurant attached. Danish, coffee cakes, cookies, muffins, breads, cakes, petit-fors and elaborate fancy pastries filled with all kinds of yummy stuff. They only have a few tables in front of the bakery on the sidewalk but there is an awning to protect you from the elements and it's reasonably roomy, pets are always welcome here.
If you can't something here to eat your nuts!
Wildly eclectic menu featuring almost every cuisine imaginable. Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, Italian, pub fare, steaks and seafood which are all very well prepared. There's an uncovered deck on the side of the restaurant and water is provided for your pups. Very friendly staff!
Who cares about the food really.
This place is like goin' to a gigantic picnic in a amazing backyard. The Park Chalet which is VERY dog friendly and is right behind the main restaurant and features tables, lawn chairs and about as much grass that's in the entire Golden Gate Park. The food is just okay the microbrews are great but this is the place for a rolickin' good time with loads of pups and their parents. Actually I think I liked it a bit more than my parents did!
Nice for breakfast, near winery tasting rooms.
Nice fresh breakfasts and lunches. Pups are welcomed on their enclosed patio and there's a doogie menu with a few items to choose from. My parents got me this scrambled egg & beef dish that was yummy. The use local foods fromthe Sonoma County and they also make homemade sausages, jams and jellies, scones, & sticky buns (dad loves these).posted: February 23rd, 2007
Casanova is by far the most adorable & romantic restaurant in Carmel. The food is pretty good and the prices are very hefty. The restaurant is very touristy and the service is a little brusk, but it's still lovely sitting (and laying) on their front porch and relaxing Carmel Style. Well behaved pups are welcomed but they sure don't treat ya like anything special here!
Baked goods your parents should share with you.
This bakery/cafe prepares everything fresh each day. Theres a nice patio in front of the bakery that sits far enough off Junipero that it can be considered peaceful and serene. They serve fresh baked breads, cakes & pastries along with coffee drinks, muffins, soups, sandwiches, and fresh salads. Very enjoyable for a fast and delicious snack.posted: February 23rd, 2007
Tortillas & Salsa...YAHOO!
Located in a courtyard on San Carlos between 5th & 6th streets and they have about 4 outside covered table that sit right in the courtyard. I've been goin' to Club Jalapeno ever since I was born! My parents always order me fresh tortillas with spicy roasted corn salsa (yep I absolutely luv it). They always seem to enjoy the Tortilla Soup, Baja Fish Tacos, Coco Prawns & fresh Margaritas. It's really cool to sit on the patio while all the shoppers pass by cuz I get lotsa attention and boy do I enjoy that! For Mexian food the prices may seem high but the quaity is high and the service great!posted: February 23rd, 2007
Lovely Pet Friendly Patio.
The daily changing menu highlights the fresh herbs and produce grown in their attached organic gardens. Instead of the usual bread at the Corkscrew you get fresh baked pita with Hummus for dipping. I (George) loved it at first and then decided I hated the stuff and spit it in the garden! My parents enjoyed the Baked Brie w/fresh garden greens (mom) and the Chicken & Cheese Enchilada's (dad). Around the corner visit the Georis Winery where mommy bought a wonderful bottle of red wine she had at the Corkscrew.
A Hangout for the pampered pooch.
Located in the Court of Fountains between 7th & Ocean this truly elegant restaurant welcomes well behaved pups on their lovely patio. While dining amongst the white table cloths and fine china you can relax to the sound of a lovely fountain right at your paws. The cuisine is wonderful yet quite pricey (hey you gots to pay the price for the surroundings I guess). Anton & Michel are famous for their Rack of Lamb (very delicious) and their Monterey Bay Abalone is to die for (and so is the price). If your parents want to spend a romantic evening with you in tow then this is the place! (bring your credit cards and don't be shocked)!
They Cook Stuff Especially Just for Pups here!
This cute small restaurant specializes in French & German food. They have a lovely small heated patio that welcomes pets. In fact they even prepare a complimentay "Doggie Burger" ((a mixture of hamburger, rice, garlic, salt and egg), they also pass out yummy cookies too! My parents enjoy the French Onion Soup, Escargot, Onion Tart, Sand Dabs & Filet of Sole. The staff and owner are incredibly hospitible and the food is wonderful, check it out!posted: February 23rd, 2007
Brings me in tune with the French Poodle in me!
Plouf is located in the Financial District in a festive alley-way filled with all kinds of restaurants. Pups are welcomed here and if your lucky you'll get some yummy pommes frites to munch on. My parents usually order the Prawn Ceasar Salad or the Endive & Frisee with pears, walnuts and blue cheese. Then it's any one of the marvelous plates of mussels served in several different ways along with pommes frites. Finish off with the Creme Brulee or the Chocolate & Fruit Fondue! YUM YUM YUM!
Bigf Beautiful Patio
This is the place to hang out with your family on a rare sunny day in Princeton or even freezing your butt off in the fog (that's the norm for us coastsiders). The patio is very large and is usually filled with pups, families, surfer dudes, locals and tourists. Now the food may not be the greatest but it's decent and since Barbara's across the street doesn't allow pups this is the place to be. They have live music most nights and their extenisve beer selections is fantastic ($2.50 a pint on tuesdays). Check it out you'll certainly enjoy yourself!
We visited on an unusually warm Fort Bragg day (65deg) and took a seat on the pet friendly outdoor patio that sits right on the street. The smell of the disinfectant used in the rest-rooms was overwhelming and the infestation of bees may have been even worse. We mentioned this to all to our waitress and her response was "that's what it's like eating outdoors"...Got up and left!
Nothing Special Really.
Location is great right at the beginning of Main Steet in the Village of Mendocino. We made our reservations late but were able to secure a small unit with a kitchen, bedroom & sunporch. It looked pretty cute on the internet but was very small and kind of claustrophobic and in need of some updating. We did not use the spa services but did peak into the area and it didn't look all that impressive. The pet fee was $25 a day and they only accept dogs 20lbs or under.
Stop at the ATM first!
Small but surprisingly well stocked shop with lotsa fun toys and fancy duds and bakery items. The staff is very friendly and they keep the store immaculate!
Wow they gots...
Lotsa stuff you didn't even know your pup needed! This is a shop to go in and create your own wish-list that you know you'll never ever get. Oh yeah and two Doxie's work here, how cool is that! Did anypup mention the free treats...YUM YUM YUM!
It's waaaay scary for me! I'd much rather go for a run around Stow Lake!
Dr. Cook's in San Francisco also...
and we experience the same quality care too!
Hopefully if no one shops here they will close down.

For the High Class Pup
PortaBella is actually located on the south side of Ocean Avenue between Lincoln & Monte Verde (Dogster wouldn't take the address). It has a lovely outdoor heated patio that welcomes pups by serving their water in a silver ice bucket and white napkin, how cool is that! The food is very good but expect Carmel "prices".posted: February 23rd, 2007

Their claim to fame is .....
that Clint Eastwood used to own this restaurant. There's photo's of him all over in the dark western inspired dining room and the menu is full of Dirty Harry cliches. The food is average and expensive but the pet friendly courtyard patio is nice but have your parents just have a cocktail and eat somewhere else!
A flash back to the 70's
Very dated and tattered small rooms with an abundance of pink...Pink walls, drapes & bedspreads.... They're very pet friendly but unfortunately I do not recommend this place.
The biggest and nicest room in all of Carmel...
Guaranteed is the Penthouse Suite. This 2 bedroom 2 bath "apartment" is spacious and stocked with everything you could ever need. There is a full marble kitchen, dining room, fireplace and 3 televisions. It's a very cool open space with a long hall thats great for running up and down over and over...Way Fun! The only downside is there is about 17 stairs to access the room so you'll need to take that into consideration if you're traveling with people or pups with mobility problems. My family planned an 80th birthday celebration for my grandma and this room is the only place they even considered staying at, we'll be there in 4 days and I can hardly wait!posted: February 22nd, 2007

It's big and noisy.
Large hotel with nice sized family units with kitchenettes, a living room with hide-a-bed and separate bedroom w/bath, quite roomy for your pet. The hotel offers a free cocktail hour which on the weekends if very rowdy and a complimentary breakfast in the nice atrium. The pet fee is a flat $50 per stay and since we only stayed one night for a company party my parents had wished they left me home!posted: February 22nd, 2007
Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic
My family spent one night here (unfortunately) while making a weekend trip for a graduation party on the Delta Queen. This place just looked okay from the outside but when we entered our 2 bedroom suite we were pleasantly surprise at how lovely it truly was. The two bedrooms each had their own bathrooms there is a full kitchen and a nice pool area. There is a nice common room where the extended breakfast is served or you can return to your room with your food, which we did since the room was so very nice. Upon making the reservation we told the staff that we would be accompanied by one smal dog, me! Upon check in mom did not take me in the lobby and neglected to mention me at all. We kinda snuck around the grounds in hopes that maybe they'd forget about me and yes indeed they certainly did, no pet fee! I realize this sounds kind of crooked on our part but hey we told them I'd be there and I guess they forgot!
Nothing special & expensive...
We stayed in the Dolores Cottage which is actually a block west of the Fireplace Inn's main building. The cottage is located at 4th & Dolores and is really like a summer cottage. There is a parking area on the premises which is challenging if you're an SUV owner. The cottage has two very small bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a full kitchen. The most annoying thing is that the couch in the living room is VERY uncomfortable and one of the bedrooms is sooo small that you could actually injure yourself if you needed to get up in the middle of the night. There's a small patio that looks over the parking lot but also has views of the trees. There is a continental breakfast available at the Fireplace Inn but it's a rocky block and a half away with OJ , coffee and danish in tow. The front desk staff really sucked and we were called at 11:55am on our day of checkout and told "you need to leave we have paperwork to do" check out is 12pm and needless to say we gave them a piece of our mind at 12pm...The pet fee is $25 a day and the only word of warning is that the front door fronts ground level on busy Dolores Street and one time I (George) escaped when the door was open and nearly freaked my parents out!posted: February 22nd, 2007
Beautiful Gardens be sure to bring your walking shoes.
Colorful fragrant gardens with the crashing waves of the Pacific in the background. Everything from manicured formal gardens, a dense pine forest to flower filled coastal bluffs make these botanical gardens especially awe inspiring. During Whale season they even have a protected shelter to witness these spectacular beings. The gardens are very pet friendly, they provide poop-bags and their only request is that you use them and dispose of them properly. There is a nice snack bar, garden store with nursery, electric carts and the entire gardens are wheel chair accessible to the ocean. Absolutely Magnificent!posted: February 22nd, 2007

A different kind of pet store....
Pets Delight has all the common pet supplies & foods available in many shops but they specialize in uncommon foods and supplies too. They have an amazing assortment of every type of pet food you could ever imagine (and many you\'ve probably never heard of). Located in the affluent town of Los Altos we\'re please to say that any \"attitude\" you may encounter stops at the sidewalk, the staff here is quite charming.
Boutique products at relative reasonable prices.
Extensive inventory of designer clothes, acessories & high quality pet foods. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and I've heard some great things about their grooming services. Oh yes this is a branch of the Bow Wow Meow in SF which I hear is not quite as nice as this San Carlos location.
Now this is a bakery!
I absolutely love the fresh baked treats at Bella & Daisy's especially the cannoli & pizza...YUM YUM! Oh yes and i'm still trying to talk my parents into a cashmere sweater. I figure since I gots to where 'em they outta be of the upmost of quality, after all nothin's too good for me!posted: February 22nd, 2007
In the heart of the historic Mendocino Village Patterson's is an Irish Pub not to be missed. They have a reasonably priced menu that runs the gamet from burgers to asian & mexican specialties. They have a large grassy yard behind the pub with picnic tables but unfortunately no umbrellas. Agreed it's seldom that Mendocino, which sits on the Northern Pacific Coast, receives much sun but on those few days it can really become a scorcher while dining. The only somewhat odd thing about Patterson's is that to enter the Dog Friendly yard you must walk or carry your pup through the Pub itself. Admittedly you'll get a few strange stares but the food and friendly service are well worth the adventure.
I just came back today from this Dog Park and I had a super-fantabulous time...The peeps were really nice to my family and we gots to chase pitties in the next fenced off area! Way fun I was freakin' foamin' at the mouth with exictement! Yep I loved this place! But mommy & daddy say I'm pretty funky now from all the dirt but heck I'm a dang dog, ain't I?posted: February 22nd, 2007
Unbelieveably Beautiful Beach...
Carmel River beach sits at the end of Carmelo Street and has an ample parking lot with restooms. Go early on a weekday morning and you'll be treated to peaceful tranquility. The beach is about 1 mile long and there is a protected bird sanctuary in a lagoon just as the Carmel River empties into the sea. Your pups MUST be leashed here but I (George) absolutely love being the only dog frolicking in the sand. This is the beach to go if you just want to unwind and contemplate life, amazing! Word of warning the gated parking lot closes at dusk.posted: February 22nd, 2007
A Puppy Winery!
Cool place to visit with your furless ones while they get all goofy! Pups are amazingly allowed on all the grounds including the tasting room. It doesn't really seem like this would be much fun for us pups but I can guarantee you more pets than you could ever imagine. Drunk people are SO fun!posted: February 22nd, 2007
A store named after me has to be good right...
but unfortunately it's just so-so. Medicore assortment & high priced products were quite a disappointment. I did convince mom to buy me the George shampoo just cuz I wanted a little memento of a store named just for me! The George store I visited is not on Dorman Ave (which I thought was their warehouse) but located at 2411 California Street.
Expensive but nevertheless wonderful.
Great assortment of high end foods and treats at "boutique" prices. Their clothing selection along with their collar and leash inventory is extensive & expensive, but of extreme high quality and fashion appeal. They even carry a selection of SheaPet shampoos and conditioners in which the Shea Butters come from Uganda which has greatly improved the preservation of the Shea Trees in this country and has also significantly improved the quality of life for this impoverished country, the product are expensive but quite luxurious. Highly recommended when "Strolling the Avenue"!posted: February 22nd, 2007
Good Independent Pet Store
Nice assortment, decent prices & a knowledgeable staff make shopping with your pet here quite a pleasure here. They also have a reward program for food, which is nice.
It's okay I guess....
Decent inventory & prices but the highlight here is the staff is very knowledgeable.
Decent assortment of the necessities...
but VERY expensive in comparison to Linda Mar Pet Supply for food. This shop has been around a very long time and it shows. Coastside Critters is dark & dusty (and a little smelly) but I guess if you're desperate for something it's okay, but awfully expensive.
Decent Prices on Dog Food.
This is a very small store which carries an amazing assortment of dog and cat foods of mostly intermediate to premium brands. I was looking for a particular new brand of food that was out and unfortunatley they did not have it, but I did notice that their prices are amazing for such a small independent store. They do carry my current brand and I will most likely turn my mom onto this shop for future kibble purchases. Oh yes and they have a program where you buy so many bags of food and you get a free one, how cool is that!posted: February 22nd, 2007
My (George) Most Favorite Restaurant to Visit!
This restaurant is always packed for a very good reason, the Caribbean decor, the friendly wait-staff and the incredibly inventive cocktails and cuisine. I can actually recommend everything we've ever ordered here but here are a few of our favorites. Sweet Potato Fries Parmesan Fried Calamari Blackened Sesame Crused Ahi Crab Mango Soup Black Bean Soup Bahama Mama Fish Tacos B acon Wrapped Meatloaf (you only wish your mom could make it this good). Oh forgot to mention when you sit down you get complimentary Calyspo Cheese Bread which is utterly irresistable, George absolutely loves it too! This restaurant also has a lovely heated (fire-pit and lamps) which is always packed with both local and tourist pups of all shapes and sizes. Simply Carmel at it's very best!posted: February 22nd, 2007
Cottages near two beautiful beaches
My family are frequent visitors to the Lincoln GreenInn (which has recently been sold and is under new ownership) . It's a little off the beaten path if your visiting Carmel for it's wonderful shopping, but being a long time Carmel visitor our main goal is to kick back and relax, and these lovely new cottages certainly fit the bill. EDITED: SINCE WE HAVE JUST RECENTLY STAYED AT THE INN UNDER IT'S NEW OWNERSHIP...UPDATED REVIEW TO FOLLOW!posted: February 22nd, 2007
Okay so I
The Happy Hour from 5pm to 7pm rocks...It's a bunch of furless ones and their pups hangin' out together in the bar area..Way cool!posted: February 22nd, 2007
Now This Place REALLY Caters to Pups!
I absolutely love selecting my meal from The Forge's Dog Pound Menu. My most favorite menu item is the Hen House Chicken Strips, which is 5 ounces of skinless grilled chicken breast served in a doggy bowl. If you're not too keen on dining with dogs don't worry the "Dog Pound" is a lovely area separated from the outdoor "people" dining area. As for my parents they usually do "appetizers" here; some of their favorites being the Reuben Egg Rolls, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings & French Onion Soup...Yum Yum to all of it, I say! A must visit for pups of all sizes!posted: February 12th, 2007
Dog Friendly Heated Patio in Front....
Just steps away from Golden Gate Park this is a homey yet funky bistro with a menu filled with all sorts of treats like freshly blended juices and smoothies, standard issue but delicious soups and sandwiches, pasta and pizza and meat and potatoes. Some of my parents favorites are the appetizer Focaccia, Organic Spinach Salad w/apples, feta, walnuts & currants, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Vegetable Lasagna and absolutely any dessert on the menu. They also have an unusual beer selection and decent (cheap) house red wine too. It's soo cool for me to hang out on the front patio and soak up all the attention I get along with any food I can steal!posted: February 12th, 2007

Saturday Morning Fun!
I attend the small dog sessions almost every Saturday and boy is it a blast for both me and my parents. There's counselors on staff to make sure we don't get outta hand and mom & dad sit around and socialize while us pups play like crazy. Great for dogs who are uncomfortable in dog parks since it's much more controlled and special attention is given to pups who require it! Come join us. . . It's a barking good time!posted: February 12th, 2007

Quality Care Comes at a Cost.....
Located on Wednesdays & Fridays only at the All Animals Hopstial on Ninth Avenue. I was referred to Veterinary Vision by my regular Vet for an unknown eye-condtion and have been receiving regular treatments by Dr. Cook and I like her fine. She doesn't really do any painful stuff to me and is always willing to spend the extra time to answer my parents questions. I really don't mind going here (except for the lousy eye drops they send me home with) but my parents are always agast upon receipt of the charges. Guess you gotta pay to play..Huh! Oh yes and it's right near my most favorite restaurant Park Chow & Golden Gate Park so that makes it even more fun!posted: February 12th, 2007
Cute Dog Friendly Patio
Located in the Zaballa Square courtyard mall, just off Half Moon Bay's Main Street this cozy café features a range of flavors — from Mexican, to Mediterranean, to American. They have a decent size patio in front of the restaurant which welcomes pups of any size and if your lucky to charm the owner she'll probably bring you oodles of freshly baked ham to munch on with your parents...Nice and juicy...Yum Yum!

It Costs How Much?
Unbelievably high prices for a mediocre assortment of pet supplies. I see pee-pee puddles everywhere (not just smelling the rements of it)...Mommy says UGH!posted: February 12th, 2007

Decent Inventory - Cheap Prices
You really won't find anything out of the ordinary here, but for your run-of-the-mill pet supplies you'll be hard pressed to find any better prices (especially on foods). Word of warning though if your pup can't resist the smell of wee-wee have them ride in the cart cuz it smells very very good to me in here! Minuses..Cash & ATM only....
Fun to look around...
Located on the lower level of the lovely Carmel Plaza. Nice but somewhat small assortment of pricey stuff to buy for your favorite friend.posted: February 12th, 2007
This is the place to have your parents spoil you to no end and empty their bank accounts simultaneously.posted: February 12th, 2007
This is THE Ultimate Beach....
Crowded and action packed at the North End (Ocean Ave) and more quiet and relaxed at the South End (15th Ave)... Absolutely Doggie Heaven!posted: February 11th, 2007
Quality & Affordable Healthcare
Dr. Hurlbut, Dr Randle & Dr Blumstein are all well-trained, friendly and caring veternarians who have surrounded themselves with a wonderful & knowledgeable support staff. They offer many services such as low cost vaccination clincs on Sundays, boarding & behavior consulting. I highly recommend the staff at Pacifica Pet Hospital, tell them George sent you!posted: February 6th, 2007
I've been goin' to Bark N Bubbles ever since I was a puppy and I'm now 5 years old and have always looked gorgeous after my appointment. Gail & staff are wonderfully kind and never uses any sort of drugs or muzzles. I admit I'm not the "sweetest" customer but Gail is very understandin' and "works" with me the best she can. I am always the recipient of positive comments about my groomin' and would never have any hesistation about recommendin' Bark N Bubbles. Hate bein' groomed but love my Groomer!
