Veterinarians & Specialists
If you want a show, go to the movies. If you want a good Vet go to Doc JohnsonWhy someone would take their dog to the vet to get their nails clipped, I'll never know but the entire staff at Acorn Hill is great. No, doc won't put on a dog and pony show for you but he will treat your pet and is extremely knowledgable and up to date on veterinary medicine. He is not at all rough or unkind and will stop the procedure to let the animal settle down. He takes walk ins (atleast on the weekends) and the wait is never long (atleast if he's not doing someones nails. I hope they don't take them to the groomer's to get shots!). |
Not Impressed, Kind of DisgustedThe first time I went to Acron Hill was to get my dogs nails cut. Dr. Johnson walked in the exam room and did not greet me. He also made no attempt to 'greet' my dog, or even let him sniff him. He pinned my dog down and cut 2 of his nails. He did both of them too short and Ruffian started bleeding a LOT! Then he had his tech (Ryan) take over. He was a lot better. The next time I took Ruffian he started shaking when Dr. Johnson entered the room. Dr. Johnson grabbed Ruffian again and cut 1 nail, which also bled. I told Ryan to take over. I never went there again. 1 pet found this review unhelpful |
Not perfect, but still goodDr. Johnson took care of me from the time I was a puppy all the way through the time I went to the Bridge. While he is a thorough vet, his bedside manner is lacking a little bit, and he sometimes seems a bit dismissive. Overall I have no complaints about his knowledge of veterinary medicine, just his "customer service". |
