“This is a GREAT leashless dog beach on Lake Michigan. Take US31 to Sherman Blvd, dead end at the park. Park has about one mile of Lake Michigan Beach. The large sand dunes are in good shape, but some areas need additional dune grass planting. This is the major picnic area with 4 picnic shelters and an accessible ramp to the beach and into the dunes. A dog beach was created on the beach along the northern part of the park. ”

Awesome Off Leash Dog Beach

We drove 2 - 1/2 hours from Grand Blanc on Monday, August 24 to go to this off leash dog beach for the first time. It was so worth the drive! The beach is stunningly beautiful, perfect sand and a wide and long stretch of beach for the dogs to run. All the people were very nice and the dogs well behaved. I saw NO stray dog droppings. The area provides potty bags. We can't wait to go back.

A great vacation spot for dogs!

Mom travels to Michigan just to take me to this dog beach. I love running along the sandy beach and barking at the waves. The fences and sand dunes ensure I can't run off unattended. This place is the best! Mom has even toyed with the idea of buying a house nearby just to be near this beach.

Lake Michigan Dog Beach

This is a GREAT leashless dog beach on Lake Michigan. Take US31 to Sherman Blvd, dead end at the park. A dog beach was created on the beach along the northern part of the park. You can run leashless on what seems like endless pristine beach sand. They have a garbage can and doggie bags at the entrance to the beach. Everyone is really good about keeping it clean. Parking is on top of the dune and there are restrooms, water fountains, pavillions for picnicing, and places for kids to play on top of the dune as well. This is my pick for best Michigan Dog Beach!!
