An American couple doing AIDS relief work in Haiti fled to the US with their 7-month-old daughter after sleeping in the streets for three nights amid the devastation following the massive earthquake last month. They could not take their dogs. The dogs were no strangers to disasters: The couple had rescued them after Hurricane Katrina, and had vowed never to let them be abandoned again.
