Here's a random sampling. So cute!Information about Doxiepoos
History:The Doxiepoo, a cross between the Dachshund and the Minature Poodle (or Toy Poodle or Standard Poodle), originated in the U.S. along with several dozen "hybrid" dogs that became popular for being hypoallergenic and (supposedly) healthier than many purebred canines. Some breeders believe the Doxiepoo's sociability and good health come from "hybrid vigor," which is when a healthier dog results from combining two purebreds. The Look of the Doxiepoo:Meet a few Doxiepoos and you'll see that they don't always look alike. Each individual Doxiepoo usually has the features of its purebred parents. But for the most part, the Doxiepoo has the long and low frame of the Dachshund combined with the Poodle’s curly, wiry or soft & wavy coat—some Doxiepoos have a shorter, more Dachsund-like coat. The Doxiepoo comes in a wide variety of colors, and it always has a very cute look on its face. What They're Like to Live With:The Doxiepoo has not been around for very long, but it already has legions of fans. It's not at all hard to see why. Not only does the Doxie look cute and cuddly, it's also intelligent, inquisitive and very loyal. The Doxiepoo has a bright, positive energy and an adaptable disposition—always up for play, quiet time or family togetherness.
Both Dachshunds and Poodles have a strong hunting pedigree. These instincts come through in the Doxiepoo as well. It loves the outdoors, has a particular fondness for woodland critters and occasionally digs holes in the yard. The Doxiepoo craves affection and attention, so make sure it gets plenty of it. A bored or neglected Doxiepoo can become listless and sometimes destructive.
The Doxiepoo will be happy in an apartment, but it needs lots of time outdoors to run and explore. This is a curious and energetic little dog: always remember to keep it on a leash in public. Loyal and protective, the Doxiepoo may need a little time to warm up to new people or children it doesn't know very well. But, as a family pet, it is hard to beat!
