Hi,my vet says puppy need 3 boosters around 8,12,16 weeks, and also rabies which can be given around the 16 week. After they have had those 3 boosters then you can do the 3 year shots along with the rabies after that.which is nice your pup only has to get needles every 3 years.

Typically puppies get 3 sets of booster shots at 8, 12, and 17 or 18 weeks. Then year-long shots are given. The vaccinations that your puppy should have are:

Rabies
Kennel Cough
Parvo
Distemper
Bordatella

Puppies should also be treated for worms.

Godd luck!

Puppy boosters are generally first started at 6-8 weeks of age, and then repeated 2-3 weeks after each one, up until the age of 4 months. Rabies can then be adminstered at 16 weeks. Next round of shots will only be administered once a year, or you can opt for 3 year rabies. But your puppy will only receive the 3 year rabies after a one year rabies has been given. Then again, some areas require dogs to be vaccinated for rabies once a year, therefor your 3 year vaccine wouldn't be an option.

My puppies were adopted at a shelter and got only the vaccinations they needed to travel by air. Once home, they were treated for worms (which they had) and then never got another vaccination while under my loving care. I do not plan to give them ANY vaccinations ever. Vaccines are dangerous and cause more harm than good. When they remove the harmful mercury from vaccines and actually make them safe, I will consider it. But a vet almost killed my Katie Bella giving her a vaccine that she didnt need. She went into anaphylexic shock, and had I not had a homeopathic health care practitioner willing to make a house call on a Saturday and give her a remedy for poison, she would have died. And our other dog Prince a beautiful Beagle developed a tumor on his eye and had to have his eye removed. "What would cause a tumor in his eye?" we asked our vet. Her answer? "too many unnecessary vaccinations." No more vaccines.

Molly Doll ( In Loving Memory)

In the UK we only have 2 sets of shots,as we don't have to give rabies shots in the UK for some reason,so we give them at 8 weeks then 10 weeks, then they have yearly boosters.
