It’s well known that dogs love spending time at the beach as much as humans do. In fact, some people would even argue that they love them more than we do. The point is, those pebble or sandy shores are exactly what your dog needs if you’re looking to keep them active, happy, and healthy.

1. Stewart Beach

️ Address: Galveston, TX 77550, United States
Open Times: 9 am–5 pm (Mon–Thursday); 9 am–6 pm (Fri–Sunday)
Cost: Mon–Thursday $12/vehicle; Fri–Sunday/ holidays $15/vehicle
Off-Leash: No
  • Alcohol is prohibited
  • Open fires are not permitted
  • Visitors aren’t allowed to camp overnight
  • Has a playground and sports court
  • Rarely gets overcrowded
  • They offer seasonal parking passes at $50

2. Dellanera RV Park Beach

️ Address: 10901 Termini-San Luis Pass Rd, Galveston, TX
Open Times: 9 am–5 pm daily, Closed Christmas day
Cost: Free for RV; $12–$15 for any other type of vehicle
Off-Leash: No
  • The campsites are all paved and have incredible ocean views
  • Restrooms and showers are well-maintained
  • Gets overcrowded at times
  • Glass bottles are not permitted
  • Bonfires are prohibited
  • No camping at night

3. Jamaica Beach

Open Times: 8 am–5 pm (Mon–Thursday); 8 am–12 pm Friday

  • Has clean water for swimming, but it’s saltier than that of other beaches nearby
  • Offers RV parking at an affordable price
  • Traffic can be a nightmare due to the two-lane road
  • There are great restaurants nearby

4. Sylvan Beach

Open Times: 7 am–10 pm daily
Cost: Free
Off-Leash: No
  • Has a long fishing pier
  • Alcohol is prohibited
  • Has two modern-shaded playgrounds
  • Offers grass spots for barbecue or picnic
  • Spacious parking lots

5. West End Pocket Parks Beach

️ Address: 11102 Termini-San Luis Pass Rd, Galveston, TX 77554, United States
Open Times: 9 am–6 pm daily
Cost: $15 per car
Off-Leash: No
  • Not crowded most of the time
  • Has dark but clean sand
  • There’s an on-site restaurant
  • Overnight camping and parking are not allowed
  • Only offers portable restrooms
  • You’ll be liable to a $200 fine for carrying a glass

6. El Jardin Beach

  • The picnic tables don’t have any shade
  • Finding an empty parking spot is not easy
  • The water is not regularly tested
