Tallahassee is the state capital of Florida, and it's a city nestled among a lot of nature. There are miles of trails, heavy woodland, and lakes within minutes of the city. These great examples of wild Florida make for some truly spectacular dog parks. There are six amazing dog parks in Tallahassee where you are allowed to let your dog off leash to explore and roam around.

1. Bradfordville Dog Park

2. J. Lee Vause Park and Dog Park

  • Located on the banks of Lake Jackson
  • Includes trails, pavilions, enclosed dog spaces and waterfront views

3. Tom Brown Dog Park

  • Dog park is a short walk from the parking lot, follow the trail
  • Large sandy play area for both big dogs and small dogs
  • The area can get very muddy and mucky after heavy summer rains

  • Miles and miles of trails to hike with your canine
  • Park is usually sparsely populated, allowing your dog ample time to sniff around
  • Be sure to keep a leash handy and keep your dog on voice command if you let them off-leash
