Selecting a new dog is a big decision, but you can’t go wrong with a Labrador Retriever puppy. Originating from Newfoundland, the Lab is an energetic animal that loves to play and hunt. As one of the most beloved dogs in the world, the Labrador is widely available from qualified breeders. To make your search less complicated, we’ve compiled a list of experienced Labrador Retriever breeders in South Carolina.

1. Cedar Creek Retrievers LLC

Cedar Creek Retrievers LLC

  • Holly Hill, South Carolina

Located on a 20-acre farm near historic Charleston, South Carolina, Ceder Creek Retrievers has been raising Labrador Retrievers since 1990. They’re an AKC-registered breeder that raises Labs as hunting companions, family pets, therapy dogs, sporting dogs, and handicap assistance animals. Their puppies are guaranteed against congenital hip dysplasia for 26 months and hereditary eye disease for 12 months. Cedar Creek does not accept visitors during the puppies’ whelping and rearing period.


2. Woods Ferry Labradors

At Woods Ferry Labradors, they breed purebred yellow, black, chocolate, and white Labrador Retrievers. Their champion line dogs have won several competitions, including a first-place medal at the UKC Carolina Classic in 2012. Woods Ferry is a family-owned breeder, and one of the family members is a veterinary technician who ensures the puppies are healthy and happy. If you purchase a Woods Ferry Lab and decide to enroll your dog in their obedience or hunting programs, you’ll receive a 10% discount.


3. Greenbriar Plantation

Greenbriar Plantation is an AKC-registered breeder of English Block Headed Labrador retrievers. They specialize in raising yellow and black labs, and their puppies come with a health guarantee covering hips and elbows. Puppies receive inoculations at 6 weeks old, and they go to their forever homes as early as 7 weeks old. Each puppy includes a detailed medical history and full AKC registration. Visitors are welcome at Greenbriar Plantation, but be sure to make an appointment before your visit.


4. Salkehatchie Labrador

At Salkehatchie Labrador, they raise yellow, black, red, white, and chocolate Labrador Retrievers. Their dogs are half American Lab and half English Lab, and they’re available with limited registration and full registration. Located a few miles north of Greenville, South Carolina, Southern Master Labs offers every color of Labrador, including yellow, black, chocolate, charcoal, champagne, fox, and red. All their puppies are AKC registered, and they are raised in a family environment. They learn to socialize with children and other domesticated pets. Whether you’re searching for a therapy dog, hunting partner, or beloved companion, Southern Master Labs has you covered.


6. Silver in the South Kennel

Unlike most of the breeders in the Palmetto State, Silver in the South Kennel produces purebred Silver Labs. Their silver puppies are AKC-registered purebred labs. The Silver Lab was first recognized by the AKC in 1987, and it is categorized as a chocolate variety. Silver Labradors ensures their puppies are free from disease, parasites, and defects. Each puppy is dewormed and vaccinated before going home with new owners. If you want to check out the breeding facilities, Silver allows visits with appointments.


7. Home of Labradors

  • Greer, South Carolina

Home of Labradors is a hobby breeder that specializes in raising champion AKC-registered Labradors. Their puppies are available for adoption when they’re 8 weeks old. The dogs are dewormed two to three times and vaccinated before leaving. 8. Amber’s Waves of Grain

At Amber’s Waves of Grain, their AKC Labrador puppies are raised in a home environment and allowed to run and play outside. Their adult Labs are genetically tested and receive all required vaccinations and preventative medications for fleas and ticks. In addition to puppies, Amber’s Waves also sells teenage Labs that are housebroken and tame. They are passionate about preserving strong Labrador bloodlines, and some of their dogs have English champion, master hunter, and field champion lineages. Mason Farms is committed to raising well-rounded puppies, and their young Labs are exposed to several sounds and experiences like riding in a car to prepare them for forever homes.
