Is this the kind of Labrador Retriever puppy breeder you want? Well, read on to find a reputable one.

The 8 Labrador Retriever Puppy Breeders in New York

1. Hampton Labradors

  • Ontario, NY

Hampton Labradors have been breeding Labradors for over 20 years. The Hampton family purchased their first Lab in 1998, fell in love with the dog, and started their Lab kennel.

Their goal is to breed kind, calm, gentle, smart Lab dogs in excellent health. All breeding dogs undergo orthopedic testing and extensive genetic testing to guarantee a healthy litter. The Hamptons use AKC breeding standards for their breeding programs.

At the moment, the Hamptons are only breeding black and chocolate Labradors. Also, they reserve the first right to pick pups from every litter.

2. Old House Labs

  • Mount Morris, NY

Old House Labs is an AKC registered, family-run business in Upstate New York. They breed quality puppies from parents who are OFA, CNM, CERF, and EIC cleared and have a 26-month guarantee on eyes and hips.

Their puppies make excellent companions. They can also be trained to serve as guide dogs, agility champions, or hunters.

At Old House Labs, all puppies are checked by the vet, dewormed, and receive their first shots. The breeder sells these puppies on limited registration. So, you can reserve one by visiting their website or calling them.

3. Humehill

  • Silver Springs, NY

Humehill has been in the Labrador breeding business for 36 years. During this time, they have learned that good breeding is not seldom. This is why they conduct DNA genetic testing on the mating Labs, research pedigrees, and perform x-rays. At other times, they fly in semen from other states to guarantee the best quality future Labs.

Humehill is inspected by AKC and NYS, plus it is NY State Licensed. They have produced family dogs, show dogs, hunting dogs, and service dogs.

If you want to reserve a puppy from Humehill, they will send you a questionnaire and a deposit contract. The puppies leave the facility after they are 8 weeks old. Prior to this, the puppies are taken to the vet for a checkup, dewormed, microchipped, and receive their first vaccineS.

4. Hidden Pond Labradors

  • Waverly, Tioga County, NY

Hidden Pond Labradors breeds high-quality black, yellow, and chocolate Labs. They consider themselves knowledgeable breeders because they have degrees in Animal Science and Agricultural Engineering.

Hidden Pond Labradors are licensed and inspected under New York State License. They focus on producing and raising genetically quality dogs, a reason why the parents undergo Embark tests. In addition, they raise the puppies in an 87-acre home with fenced-in yards instead of kennels. The dogs also have a large pond to swim or play in.

All Hidden Pond puppies have veterinarian health certification, a one-year written health guarantee, have their first shots, and are microchipped. They also give a lifetime placement warranty and offer stud service.

5. Stoneleigh Labradors

  • Brewster, NY

Stoneleigh Labradors is an AKC-registered, private breeding kennel. They aim to breed championship Labs that can go to the show program. The pups that do not qualify for show programs are trained for companionship, hunting, therapy, or response dogs.

The breeder is dedicated to guaranteeing that future Labs have the best genetics to live a long, happy life. For this, the parents are thoroughly screened for EIC, CNM, DM, PRA, eyes and hips, and clean elbows. They also receive year-long preventative health care.

Stoneleigh Labrador puppies are hand-raised with abundant affection and then socialized before they leave the facility. Even though the breeder does not always have available puppies all year round, they will be happy to have you on a waiting list.

6. Legacy Labradors

  • Carmel, NY

Kevin Bergerson owns Legacy Labradors and has been breeding Labs since 1995. He has received certification as an AKC Breeder of Merit and has produced numerous Lab champions.

Legacy puppies receive the same socialization programs as service and guide dogs. They are paper-trained, crate trained, taken for car rides, and receive daily playtime.

In addition, the pups undergo health checks, including DHLPP vaccinations, deworming, veterinarian health certification, and DNA clearances. They are also microchipped and AKC registered.

Unlike other Labrador breeders, Legacy accepts applications only when there is a litter available. This means you must be on the lookout since they do not keep a waiting list for potential buyers. Occasionally, they have older dogs available after they have finished their show careers.

7. Pinecrest Kennels

All pups receive their first shots and worming before they leave. To purchase one, contact the breeder via email or the website.

8. Wiscoy Labradors

Wiscoy Labradors has received AKC Breeder of Merit certification. This is proof that not only are the Labs well-bred, but they are healthy and with easy-to-live temperaments.
