How to Name Your Dog

Naming your dog can be challenging, depending on how picky you are. Still, there are a few methods that can help you give your dog a name. To start, consider their appearance.

For example, Silver Dollar Sam is the nickname of the mobster Silvestro Carollo, which could make a great name for your pup that has a white or silvery coat. Your tiny Chihuahua could be Big Tuna, which is from the mobster Tony “Big Tuna” Accardo, or your giant breed could be Peanuts, the nickname of gangster John Tronolone.

If you end up thinking a gangster name might not be quite right for your dog, just start brainstorming your favorite things, including bands, musicians, or characters from your favorite movies, books, TV shows, and video games. Even food and drink can make interesting names. So, use your imagination!
