It’s time for a holiday miracle for one friendly Beagle and his hoomans. Bart was stolen from his Washington home and it seems to be pretty clear it was a human who took off Bart’s collar and tossed it by the road.
Beatrice is VERY upset that someone would steal one of her breed and urges everyone to keep Bart and his family in their thoughts.

Thanks to Roger for barking in this news.

Animal Communicators and Pet Finders alike are searching for the store mascot and iconic beagle named Bart. Bart was apparently stolen from Roger & Kristinas Ridgefield, Washington home on November 17, 2007 between 8-9pm.
An extensive search turned up Barts collar and it was found along side a road near their home and was un-hooked. This is something that seems only possible with human hands. Harry Oakes was called in to track Barts whereabouts. Harry and his team are part of the International K9 Search and Rescue Services. Harry and his dog Valorie were also instrumental in the discovery of the girls that were murdered by Ward Weaver in a suburb of Portland, Oregon.
Harry tracked Bart up and down the street and then back to the site where the collar was found and they lost the scent. Harry is certain that Bart was taken from that spot.
The local media was alerted of the theft and were quick to run a story. The McLeskeys had recently donated wheels and tires for a local Meals-On-Wheels program because a thief had stolen theirs. The Meals-On-Wheels crew also delivers meals to pets for which Beastie Boutique, the McLeskeys store, collects food. The connection led local channels 2, 6, 8 and 12 to run news segments on the story. The local paper ran a story on the front cover another one ran a special article and a local radio station ran the story.
Bart has touched a lot of hearts with his warm personality and charm as the official store greeter and mascot. Once the stores customers found out he was missing they started calling and stopping in to see what they could do. Many donated their time putting up flyers and searching roads and fields. A local business doubled the original $500 reward to $1,000 and from there it grew to $5,000 with pledges from all over.
Local Church groups have formed prayer circles and everyone tells us they are praying for him. Local school kids have made their own flyers and posted them at their school. Many kids came in just to see Bart and play with him. He is deeply missed.
A couple of local Animal Communicators have added what they believe Bart is seeing and doing and both say he is alive and was stolen by a man. They are trying to communicate with him to determine his location. One of the communicators believes he is on the move riding along in a semi truck heading south possibly into California.
