Panama City Dog Beach and Rules of the Beach

Panama City Beach has one dog beach that you can take your furry friend to.

Off-Leash Allowed? No
Per the Panama City website, the following rules apply to dogs at the beach.
  • All dogs must stay inside the perimeters of the designated dog beach
  • All dogs must have up-to-date shots and ID tags
  • All dogs must be leashed, or voice trained
  • One person is permitted to bring no more than three dogs at a time
  • Puppies under 4 months old are not permitted
  • Do not bring females in heat
  • The beach prefers all dogs to be spayed/neutered
  • Do not bring food bowls on the beach
  • If dogs are creating a problem, you will be asked to leave
  • Owners must clean up all dog waste
  • Dogs must never be alone with children
  • The beach is an “at-your-own-risk” part of Panama City Beach

The 4 Dog-Friendly Places in Panama Beach

Panama City Beach has plenty of dog parks and other pet-friendly destinations you can visit on your travels. Here are the main attractions.

1. Panama City Beach Conservation Park

The Panama City Beach Conservation Park has a ton to do for both you and your canine companions. This location has over 2,900 acres with 24 miles of trails leading through beautiful cypress domes. You can enjoy the many sites with your pups. Just make sure to keep them leashed.


2. Gayle’s Trails

Gayle’s Trails is actually connected to the Panama City Beach Conservation Park. It prides itself on having several miles of asphalt or paved pathways for easy walking, making it perfect for people and pets alike. In total, there are 30 miles of trails, and this is ever-expanding.


3. Aaron Bessant Park

Aaron Bessant Park definitely has no shortage of activities. It contains an outdoor amphitheater, soccer fields, festival lawns, and paved walkways. There are also two large lakes for your viewing pleasure. This particular park is a 70-acre facility that is completely dog friendly.


4. Frank Brown Park

Within Frank Brown Park, there is a completely fenced-in, off-leash dog play area. Your dog can have loads of fun, and so can you. This part of Panama City contains sports fields, aquatic centers, and tons of fun events for the whole family.

If you’re hungry, don’t fret. There are plenty of places on Panama City Beach to eat with your pup. These establishments have outdoor eating options and you can have your canine companion around to partake in dinnertime.

1. Pier Park

Pier Park is a premier shopping and entertainment area in Panama City Beach. It contains 124 stores of all kinds and tons of restaurant options. Granted, your dog won’t be allowed in all locations, but you can freely walk around to see all the sights the area offers.


2. Margaritaville

Margaritaville is a delightful dine-in restaurant that offers lots of yummy food and outdoor viewing. You can look out over the beautiful beach outside and enjoy the scenery.


3. Salty Sue’s

Salty Sue’s is a delicious diner-style restaurant offering a variety of American foods. From seafood to barbecue to wings, there is something for everyone.


4. Diego’s Burrito Factory

Grab a drink and a tasty meal at Diego’s Burrito Factory. This Mexican cuisine is sure to satisfy the taste buds and the reviews are fabulous!


5. Hook’d Pier Bar

Hook’d Pier Bar is a seafood stop on the beachfront. With breezy outdoor dining, you and your pup can enjoy salty sea air and scrumptious tastes.
