    • May 2015 : OC Raw dog foods were recalled for potential Salmonella contamination from an FDA report. The recipe that was recalled was the frozen turkey recipe with the best by October 8th, 2015, date.
    • September 2015: Another recall in the same year was issued by the FDA for potential salmonella, which included the OC Raw chicken and fish foods that were formulated into the patties, sliders, and meaty rox recipes.
    • April 2018: 3 years later, OC Raw dog food had a recall for several dog food products for potential listeria (Listeria monocytogenes), according to the FDA report on the 20th of April in 2018. The recalled products were listed as two separate voluntary recalls as the products tested positive for listeria contamination by a report from the state’s agricultural department. The freeze-dried sardine recipe was recalled because and a separate issue regarding oversized sardines was cited as a botulism risk because large fish can harbor C. botulinum spores; however, the pathogen was not found in tests.

    FDA Warning for OC Raw Dog Food

    In February 2022, the FDA issued a warning1 to OC Raw dog food that it potentially contains poisonous or deleterious substances that may cause injuries to dog health. After an inspection of the facility where the dog foods and treats are manufactured, it was found that it violated the FDA’s hazard analysis and risk-based preventative control requirements for animal foods. As of now, there is no publicly available information indicating that or how OC Raw Dog LLC has addressed these violations.
