Choose fruits and veggies that are safe for your dog, and if you plan to add dehydrated fruit, make sure to choose fruit that doesn’t have added sugar.

  • Dog kibble
  • Dehydrated fruit

Instructions
 

  • Break apart any pieces of dehydrated fruit, vegetables, or meat that may be too big for your dog to eat.
  • Add equal parts of each ingredient into a mixing bowl.

This tropical trail mix is the perfect snack for fruit lovers. It also contains chicken treats for protein. You can replace the fruit in this recipe with any of your dog’s favorite fruits just make sure they are safe for dogs and have no added sugar.

This dog trail mix does take some time to make, but it’s highly nutritious and an excellent energy source for dogs. If you don’t have enough prep time, you can always purchase dehydrated fruits and vegetables and sub the chicken liver with dog-friendly jerky treats.

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 banana
  • 1 sweet potato
  • ½ to 1 pound chicken liver

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°F.
  2. Slice the fruit and vegetables to your desired size and thickness.
  3. Clean the chicken livers and slice them into thin slices. Make sure to remove all the fat.
  4. Place the fruit, vegetables, and chicken liver on a foil-lined baking sheet. Make sure none of the pieces are on top of each other.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven until dry. Leave the oven door slightly open to let out moisture.

  • ½ cup all-natural peanut butter

  • ¼ cup all-natural unsweetened banana chips
