This is the shelter I was rescued from. The women organizing the adoptions were very helpful and a pleasure for my Mommy to work with on the process of adopting me from out of state.

Yikes!!!

BEWARE!!! This place has a REALLY bad reputation for needlessly putting animals to sleep before finding out whether or not they belong to anyone. In 2006 there was a huge controversy because BARC was euthanizing lost animals without scanning them for microchips, therefore, killing animals who could have been reunited with their families. Recently (Feb. 2007), BARC is once again under the microscope for having euthanized a lost and very much loved Chow Chow because they did not bother to check beneath the dogs fur and see that the dog was indeed wearing a collar with not one but TWO ID tags on it!!
