It's a Lab Thing: An iPhone Case That Loves the Labrador

This smart design fronts a good cause: A portion of the proceeds benefits a Lab rescue.

There's a reason the Labrador Retriever is among the most popular dog breeds. Labs are known for their affability, loyalty, and trainability. Their penchant for people makes them great family and service dogs -- and no one can play fetch the way a Lab can (they are practically born with a tennis ball in their mouths).

The folks at It's a Lab Thing love their Labradors so much that they've created an entire website devoted to the love and care of Labs.

This Cuteness Correspondent has a soft spot for Labradors. When I first moved to San Francisco, a breakup made it difficult to carve out a living in a new city. But I got a job as a dog walker, and one of my regular walks was an 11-month-old black Lab. I'd sometimes stop and hug and cry into his fur. He knew I needed him and would lean into me, offering me his love and support. I've been hooked on Labs ever since.

So imagine my excitement when, upon realizing that my iPhone case was cracked, I came across these smartphone cases featuring the one and only Labrador. Blending dogs and design with functionality, these cases avoid the kitschiness some dog-themed products fall into, so I can still look cool while showing off my love of Labs. If you don't have an iPhone, that's not a problem -- the cases are available for other phones, too. And the best part? A portion of the proceeds are donated to a local Labrador rescue organization.

I've got to get my paws on one!

Maybe I'll get one for each day of the week.

Do you think you might get one of these Labrador smartphone cases
