Arrival Story: We live 1/2 mile off the farm/market road. I was riding my 4-wheeler up the road from our house to the FM one day to get the mail. I met this big black dog about halfway down our road! I tried to make him go away, but he just looked at me and kept on walking! The next morning he was lying by the gate about 100 yards from our house. He was there a couple of days, and the next day was down by the house. He had a collar, but no tags and no ID. Looked like he had been walking quite a while. We, of course, fed him. We tried to find his owner, but no luck. That was 3 years ago, and he's still here! So he picked US! He's the perfect dog!
We had to have him put to sleep on August 16, 2005. His back legs just gave way on him because of his deteriorating discs in his back and inability to exercise. And he had a couple of strokes in the last weeks. He went away into the woods behind our house on the Friday before he died, and never came back to the house. We took him food & water which he consumed, until Tuesday morning...when he stopped eating, and seemed more stressed. The vet came and took care of him, and said he had almost lost complete use of his back legs. We miss him so much, but are glad we got to keep him for 3-1/2 years.

I've Been On Dogster Since:
I recently met the sweetest little dog on Dogster! She's a tiny little thing, and you might not think we would be a "good pair." But we have had several dates and done lots of different things together. And we ALWAYS have so much fun together! She is the sweetest, most thoughtful little doggie! I got her a special little saddle so she can ride on my back when we go places. She's so little I can't tell she's there! It's happened pretty quickly...but I just can't stop thinking about her! And tonight we were at Hammock Talk and were just hanging out behind this big tree...and all of a sudden we were kissing!! Now I REALLY can't stop thinking about her! And I think she feels the same way about me! We're definitely in love!!! Ain't love grand!
