Poverty=poor. Someone who is in poverty is low on money.
I suspect Guest is asking because he has read some of my past posts where I mention that my family is below the US poverty level.

Asking questions is a great way to learn, Guest, but this section is for questions about dogs or to do with Dogster. You can easily look up almost any word which you want to know the definition to in a dictionary. The Wiktionary is an online dictionary, but it can be edited by anyone so it's best taken it with a grain of salt, which means you realize that it could be wrong and are sceptical about it.
