How do i measure my dog for a harness?

Hi, i want to purchase baby a harness,but im not exactly sure how to measure her.


How do i measure her girth,chest,neck, etc

To measure her girth, put a piece of string around her body just behind her shoulders and under her belly (the widest part of her chest, basically.) Mark or cut the string where it goes all the way around, then take it off and measure it with a ruler or tape measure.

For the neck, do the same thing, basically. Measure her where her collar normally sits, and don't squeeze too hard.

If you take her to most pet supply stores (Petco, Petsmart, etc) you can try the harnesses they carry on her to see how they fit- they may even be able to help you fit and choose one.

Chest is girth unless it requires it, that would be width of the front chest
Neck, is measured for collar at mid point around or prongs are measured higher up on neck
Length of dog-
start where the dog's neck ends to the base of tail.
