Can you help? Shitzu with an irritaded eye?

My 3 year old male shitzu's eye is red,seeping some and obviously irritated. Today is Thanksgiving and I want to make him comfortable until tomorrow, when I can get him in to the Vet. Any sugestions would be appreciated!! Thank you, Rhonda
