Share

Paw Patrol has been a beloved children’s show on the air since 2013. This cute show features a 10-year-old boy named Ryder and a group of six puppies. Ryder leads the dogs, who are search and rescue dogs that go on tons of adventures to save and care for others. Some of the breeds of the dogs on the show are obvious, like Marshall the Dalmatian and Chase the German Shepherd.

But what about Rocky? What is this cute silver dog supposed to be, and what does he do on the show? Rocky is a mixed-breed dog. He appears to have traits of a Husky, a German Shepherd, and an Australian Shepherd, but the exact breeds are unknown.

What Breed of Dog Is Rocky?

Rocky is a mixed-breed dog. There is no information in the Paw Patrol canon as to what mixture of breeds Rocky is supposed to be, but he appears to be a Husky, German Shepherd, or Australian Shepherd of some sort. Since the puppies on the show are all approximately the same size, it is difficult to know for sure what mixture of breeds he might be.

What Does Rocky Do on the Paw Patrol Team?

Rocky’s specialty is recycling. While that may not sound like something that belongs on a search and rescue team, you might be surprised. Rocky is a smart pup who is full of fantastic ideas. He finds items and recycles them, giving them new life. He can pull used items from the trash or find used items belonging to his friends, and then he transforms them into tools that can be used to perform life-saving jobs.

He’s also able to use his tools to fix broken things, like water towers and soccer goals. This eco pup was the fifth dog added to the Paw Patrol team.

What Things Does Rocky Like and Dislike?

Rocky is known for enjoying a variety of things, including belly rubs, treats, cleaning up, and recycling. According to a few episodes of the show, he’s also a fan of being a mer-pup when he’s wearing a wetsuit, having a faux hawk, playing with building blocks, spicy pup food, the color green, pigs, ducklings, and snowboarding.

There are a few things that Rocky can’t stand. His top disliked thing is water, which he is afraid of, and being wet, which is why he only enjoys being a mer-pup when he’s wearing his wetsuit. He also doesn’t like the wet dog smell, likely because it reminds him of water. Other things that Rocky dislikes include the colors pink and yellow, wolves, being a were-puppy, and recyclable objects being thrown away or wasted.

Conclusion

Rocky is a mixed-breed puppy that became the fifth member of the Paw Patrol. His parents’ breeds are unknown, so it is unclear what mixture of breeds Rocky is. He’s an ecologically focused pup who is known for his intelligence and creativity, which allows him to make use of recycled and reused items he finds.

He’s a big fan of cleaning up and snowboarding, but will never willingly get into water unless he’s wearing his wetsuit.
