Veritas Farms CBD Pet Chews Review 2025: Our Expert’s Opinion

Veritas Farms CBD Pet Chews

Review Summary

Our Final Verdict

We give Veritas Farms CBD Calming Chews and CBD Joint Care Chews a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

These full-spectrum hemp oil chews by Veritas Farms will help your pet slip into relaxation while they’re enjoying a tasty treat. The CBD Calming Chew is a must-have for a road trip with your dog if they have travel anxiety. Or give them before other pre-meditated events that make them anxious, such as fireworks or grooming.

While they’re not a sedative, CBD chews are a natural way to make your pet feel comfortable by reducing their physical and emotional stress. The Joint Care chews also feature glucosamine/chondroitin and EPA/DHA to support their cartilage, joints, and bone. We give these chews a 4.5-star rating because they’re tasty and effective, although the results weren’t as obvious as we’d hoped.

Who Makes These Chews and Where Are They Produced?

Veritas Farms is an American company that makes a wide range of CBD products for pets and their products. These chews are fully made in the USA in Colorado.

What Makes the Calming Chews a Good Choice for an Anxious Pup?

In addition to 10 mg of full spectrum CBD oil, each Calming Chew contains chamomile and valerian root for a naturally relaxing experience. Chamomile is an herb commonly used in sleep-inducing teas for humans. In low doses, it’s dog-friendly and is sometimes used to alleviate anxiety and GI issues. You should never give your pet more chamomile than the directions prescribe because it can be dangerous in large amounts. Valerian root is another medicinal herb that humans and dogs alike can take for a mild sedative effect. Again, it’s important to give your dog the recommended amount and it’s best to ask a vet first to make sure it won’t interfere with any of their medication.

Just in case you’re worried these chews taste like blended grass, they’re naturally flavored with bacon! These calming chews aren’t merely medicine; they truly taste like treats.

How Do the Joint Care Chews Take Care of Your Dog’s Body?

Glucosamine/Chondroitin is a supplement that dogs and humans take particularly to treat arthritis. It’s a mild anti-inflammatory that supports cartilage and joints. EPA/DHA are types of omega 3 fatty acids commonly found in fish. These are also mild inflammatory ingredients that help with arthritis and joint pain. The Joint Care Chews blend all of these components with full spectrum hemp oil, creating a thoughtful (and tasty) way to combat your dog’s mobility issues.

    What Is Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil?

Hemp oil is derived from the cannabis plant. There are three many components of the cannabis plant: cannabinoids such as CBD and THC, terpenes which influence scent and provide therapeutic benefits, and flavonoids, which also provide therapeutic benefits and may even have anti-cancer properties. Broad-spectrum oils use every component of CBD oil except for THC while isolate oils merely use CBD.

Unlike broad-spectrum and isolate oils which only use certain components of the plant, full spectrum oil contains properties from all parts of the plant—including THC.

Will These Chews Make My Dog High?

These chews by Veritas Farms do not exceed 0.3% THC and will not make your dog high. You should always remember to give them the recommended dosage on the bag to prevent other health problems that can also arise from too much of the other ingredients.

Legally, CBD chews must contain less than 0.3% of THC. However, hemp isn’t regulated by the FDA, so you need to be cautious of where you source your chews to make sure you’re buying a safe product. If you buy an isolated CBD product that’s completely THC-free, you won’t get all of the therapeutic effects. However, if you buy from a irreputable source, you could make your dog sick.

Note: Recreational marijuana is toxic to dogs. You should never try to get your dog high.

Can My Puppy Enjoy These Chews?

We recommend waiting until your pup comes of age (about a year old) before treating them to these chews. They’re formulated for adult dogs only.

Reviews of the Veritas CBD Chews We Tried

    1. Veritas Farms CBD Calming Chew

    Veritas Farms CBD Calming Chew

These bacon-flavored chews feature full-spectrum CBD oil, valerian root, and chamomile to ease your dog’s nerves on extra stressful days or as an anti-inflammatory supplement any time. The directions on the bag suggest a serving size appropriate for your dog’s weight. These treats are safe for your dog to eat every day, as long as you follow the recommended serving size.

We like how the ingredients are all-natural, non-GMO, and made in the USA. Full-spectrum CBD oil is so helpful to canines because it provides them with all of the health benefits of the cannabis plant that’s missed in isolate or broad-spectrum oils. Valerian root and chamomile are excellent, naturally calming additives that don’t carry the risk of artificial sedatives as long as they’re used in moderation.

While chickpeas aren’t a particularly nutritious ingredient, they’re okay in low amounts. After all, these are treats, not food.

At the time of writing this review, Veritas Farms CBD Calming Chews are available on their website for $29.99 and come in a bag of 30. That should be approximately a month’s supply, depending on the size of your dog and whether you treat them daily.

    Pros
    • Naturally flavored with tasty bacon
    • Full-spectrum CBD oil
    • Valerian root and chamomile naturally relax your pet
    • You can feed these chews daily
    Cons
    • Chickpeas aren’t very nutritious

    2. Veritas Farms CBD Joint Care Chews

Veritas Farms CBD Joint Care Chews

These chews treat your dog while thoroughly caring for their joints and cartilage. We like the full-spectrum CBD oil because it provides anti-inflammatory properties that can give your dog’s bones a boost. The glucosamine/chondroitin additive is a popular supplement given to dogs (and humans) who suffer from arthritis. It supports their cartilage and urinary tract, which is another reason why these chews are an especially excellent choice for elderly dogs who may also have urinary concerns. The added EPA/DHA is a type of Omega 3 commonly found in fish oil that also supports the joints.

With so many health benefits for this pet, you may forget these chews are actually treats (but your dog won’t). The grilled chicken flavor will make them anticipate the next round.

While chickpeas aren’t really healthy, we’re not concerned because these are treats, not your dog’s main diet.

Veritas Farms crafts these chews in the USA out of all-natural, non-GMO ingredients. As long as you follow the feeding instructions on the bag, these chews should be safe for your dog to use daily. However, it’s best to ask your vet first, especially if your dog is on medication, because the glucosamine/chondroitin supplement shouldn’t be taken with certain drugs. Certain dog populations may also not need to take this supplement, including pregnant dogs or dogs with asthma.

    Pros
    • All-natural
    • Made in the USA
    • Full-spectrum CBD oil
    • Glucosamine/Chondroitin supports cartilage
    • EPA/DHA supports the joints
    • Dogs crave the grilled chicken flavor
    Cons
    • Glucosamine/chondroitin may cause drug interactions
    • Chickpeas aren’t very nutritious

Our Experience with Veritas CBD Chews

Let me start with this. Tuggles the Maltipoo hates grooming. We recently experienced a 100+ degree heat wave in our city and unfortunately his groomer who typically knows how to cut his hair was out of town. And his hair was overgrown. In the past, my husband and I had tried to groom him by distracting him with toys, praise, love, and other CBD treats but nothing worked. We eventually even tried to restrain him, but we ultimately failed to cut his hair. Desperate and fearing he might develop heat-stroke from his long fur, we decided to book him a haircut with the local pet store. That lasted about thirty minutes. After receiving a call that the groomer had kicked him out of their shop for being unruly, we knew we had to try something different.

Enter Veritas Farms CBD Calming Chews. As soon as I learned I was going to have the opportunity to review these awesome snacks, I was so excited and hopeful that I would finally be able to give Tuggles a calming treat that he enjoyed (and a haircut).

hand holding out veritas farms calming chews packaging in front of the dog

Veritas Farms Calming Chews were up to the task! As if he suspected their relaxing effect, Tuggles hesitated to eat the treat on the first attempt. However, he quickly succumbed to the delicious bacon aroma, and he has loved the treats ever since. He runs to the bag when he sees it come out and licks his lips, awaiting his scrumptious snack. As for the haircut? While the treats didn’t have the sedative effect that I had hoped, these chews let us give this Maltipoo a temporary summer ‘do—at least until his regular groomer is back on schedule.

Tuggles is a young pup with no apparent joint issues, but he loved the taste of the grilled chicken-flavored Joint Care Chews. He gobbles them up! The CBD oil has a calming effect as well, although probably not as noticeable as the Calming Chews since the Joint Care chews don’t include valerian root and chamomile.

    Final Verdict

Although the pet market is swarming with CBD supplements, Veritas Farms CBD Chews stands out from the crowd by offering full-spectrum CBD chews that are tasty, responsibly sourced, and made in the USA. The Calming Chews offer your pup an extra relaxing aid by including valerian root and chamomile, and the Joint Care Chews provide glucosamine/chondroitin and EPA/DHA as extra anti-inflammatory agents to soothe your dog’s achy joints. Both of these treats were warmly received and features all-natural flavors. You can give these treats to your dog daily but talk to your veterinarian before starting the Joint Care Chews if your dog is on medication because glucosamine/chondroitin can interfere with certain drugs.
