Our Experience

Puppington 3-in-1 Crossbody Dog Treat Pouch Review - using bag while walking dog

I take Micah on daily walks and have a habit of stuffing treats and poop bags into whatever pockets I happen to be wearing that day. This isn’t only impractical, but I can’t count how many times I’ve found poop bags and leftover treat crumbs in random coat pockets at the most inconvenient times. It wasn’t until I found Puppington’s 3-in-1 Crossbody pouch that I realized I was long overdue for a practical dog-walking bag.

Since the bag has arrived, it’s been a game-changer. It’s made walks so much more enjoyable, and I don’t have to worry about treats spilling out of my pockets. If there’s one thing I prioritize when buying a bag, it’s organization. I love having a lot of pockets, and Puppington’s pouch is designed to maximize storage. I can fit everything I need (with extra room) without the bag feeling heavy or overstuffed. I’m even able to fit a small toy in it for when I take Micah to the park, which is a huge plus.

One of my favorite features is the easy-clean treat pocket. As someone who typically stores treats in a Ziplock bag, it’s been great having a pocket made specifically for treats. Cleaning the pocket is a breeze, and giving Micah a snack on the go has never been easier. I also love that every pocket is secured with a zipper. Nothing is worse than spilling your dog’s treats (or your own belongings) all over the ground, and that’s not even a possibility with this bag when it’s zippered shut.

The built-in poop bag dispenser has been pretty great as well. Nothing beats the convenience of having a poop bag within reach the moment you need it and the fact that the dispenser is built-in means I’m less likely to forget them at home. It’s awesome that the treat pouch comes with color-matching poop bags, especially since the little dog faces on them are so cute.

One more well-thought-out feature – a bag clip! Use it for full bags to keep your hands free and clean all the way home. Just tie the poop bag and insert the knot into the grabbers.

Puppington is really leaning into the angle of making better (and more responsible) pet parenting fun by providing a color matching system that encourages use of compostable poop bags. They are 100% derived from corn, and their certifications mean they break down in less than 12 months (rather than building up on landfills for decades like other non-certified products making generic “biodegradable” or eco-friendly claims.

Along with being extremely practical for all things dog-related, it’s also stylish. It can be hard to find a dog-walking bag that doesn’t look tactical, so I was super impressed when I saw this one. It comes in 12 colors and looks like a traditional crossbody bag that you’d wear for everyday activities. I love how classy it looks, and I’m really happy with the blush pink color I got. It can also be styled in three different ways, which is super convenient for different outings. I typically wear it across my body, but the strap is easy to adjust if you prefer a different style.

Thanks to the durable material, I was even able to use the bag in the rain. The outer lining is water-resistant, which is ideal for rainy days, and it’s easy to wipe down if it gets dirty. After getting dirt on the bag, I used water and a paper towel to clean it, and the spot that I thought would become a stain came right off.

Key Features

Puppington 3-in-1 Crossbody Dog Treat Pouch Review - adjustable strap

3-in-1 Design

As the name suggests, the bag has a 3-in-1 design that lets you style it three different ways–over your shoulder, across your body, or around your waist–depending on how you like wearing it. It comes with an adjustable strap that’s 23 inches long at its shortest length and 42 inches long at its longest length, so you can easily change up the style to maximize comfort and convenience.

Spacious and Functional

The bag has two primary pockets–a small one in the front for treats and a larger one in the back to hold your walking essentials–and five pockets total. The treat pocket is uniquely designed for food, which means you can put Fido’s snacks directly in the pouch without worrying about making a mess or contaminating your pup’s snacks. This also means the pocket is really easy to clean. All you need to do is wipe it down with a damp cloth, and it’ll be as good as new.

The larger pocket is a great place to store your personal items (phone, wallet, sunglasses, etc.) and your dog’s extra gear (leash, wipes, toy, etc.). There are three additional pockets inside as well and a built-in poop bag dispenser. The inner pockets are great for organization, and the poop bag dispenser provides easy access to poop bags so you can easily grab one whenever you need.

Matching Poop Bags

Each treat pouch comes with color-matching poop bags that fit perfectly in the pouch’s built-in poop bag dispenser. The poop bags are biodegradable and check all the boxes for being certified home compostable (TUV certification, OK Compost Home, and ASTM D6400 compliant). One of the best things about the bags is their extra-thick material and durable design. This is one product you don’t want to fail on you, and with 20-micron toughness, it’s made to handle any and all messes. Not only that, but the poop bags are patterned with dog faces, which is super cute!

Is the 3-in-1 Crossbody Pouch a Good Value?

If you’re looking for a dog-walking bag that’s stylish and functional, this one is a great value. Along with having a sleek look and 12 colors to choose from, it’s designed with smart storage pockets to hold everything you need. The dedicated treat pocket is perfect for your furry friend’s treats, and the adjustable strap ensures you stay comfortable no matter how you like wearing it.

While you can find cheaper options, I do believe the quality of this product matches the price point.

How We Tested

When the bag arrived, I brought out all my dog-walking essentials (treats, poop bags, leash, dog toy, etc.). I checked out the pockets and started putting items in the bag based on where they naturally fit. Since the poop bags and treats had designated spots, I put those in first. Once everything was in the pouch, I put it on and adjusted the strap. Since I like wearing bags across my body, I adjusted the strap so the pouch fit comfortably as a cross-body bag. After everything was all set, I took Micah for a walk!

The bag worked great when I was out with Micah. The poop bags were easy to grab and the treat pocket was convenient to have. The pouch was lightweight and comfortable too, which was impressive given how many items it could hold!
