All the recipes range from 15% to 35% fat content. These numbers are high compared to standard dry dog food. Again, the exception is the peanut butter treats (7%).

High protein and high fat can be a good thing or a bad thing. Athletic dogs, seniors, puppies, or underweight dogs can benefit from a high-protein diet and a high-fat diet. But this isn’t the case for all dogs.

This recipe is rich in protein (50%) and fat (34%). There’s a limited-ingredient list of beef, liver, kidney, bone, pumpkin, and added nutrients. You’ll also find salmon oil for added skin, coat, and brain health.

This fat content may not be ideal for overweight dogs. Still, it does have a below-average carbohydrate count compared to other freeze-dried dog foods.
