At Dogster, we’ve long admired the creativity behind projects that bring animals and people closer together. That’s why we’re excited to share the story of Dreaming Dog—a first-of-its-kind, research-backed album designed to soothe dogs while also delivering a rich listening experience for humans.

What began as a bold idea from Amman Ahmed, founder of the pioneering pet music brand RelaxMyDog, has evolved into something truly extraordinary: Dreaming Dog—an emotionally rich, scientifically informed, genre-crossing album crafted for canines but resonant with listeners of all species.

To bring the vision to life, Amman teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Antaeus—known for his genre-defying sound design and global music placements—who produced the album alongside co-producer Daniel from Mosadi, a composer celebrated for his emotion-rich atmospheres.

Though Daniel and Amman had never met, their partnership formed shortly after Mosadi’s beloved dog passed away—a poignant coincidence that inspired the duo to dedicate the album to her memory. From there, Dreaming Dog became more than a functional soundtrack for pets. It became a mission: to create music that soothes without boring, calms without dulling, and bridges the needs of animals with the aesthetics of ambient electronica, lo-fi, and New Age composition.

Dreaming Dog

“It’s a genre-blending experience fusing ambient electronic, lo-fi, Amapiano, and subtle reggae. It’s relaxing, musically rich, and purposefully designed to connect with both dogs and people,” says Antaeus.

Every track uses research-backed techniques. The team built the entire album around canine-friendly elements:

  • Tempos of 50–70 bpm, proven to reduce anxiety in dogs
  • Softened bass for comfort without overwhelm
  • Desensitization sounds like fireworks and kids playing, gradually introduced to help normalize stimuli
  • Reduced high frequencies for a gentler listening experience

“It’s a balance between utility and beauty,” says Daniel from Mosadi. “We designed the tracks to calm dogs, but we also wanted it to be something people would genuinely want to listen to, on repeat.”

That philosophy shines through—thanks to a remarkable team of contributors, each bringing their own artistry to the project, all of whom helped refine the album into its final form:

  • Charu Suri – Charu Suri made history as the first Indian jazz artist to perform five sold-out shows at Carnegie Hall.
  • Erini – A Greek vocalist and Cirque du Soleil alum whose delicate, ornamented voice flows through the album like a lullaby.
  • Maldonado – Grammy-winning engineer behind tracks for Pharrell, Nicki Minaj, and Charli XCX, who handled recording and mixing at his NYC-based Contrackz Studio.
  • Alex Psaroudakis – A multi-Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning mastering engineer who brought his sonic finesse to the final polish.
  • Chris Sulit - Two-time Grammy and one-time Latin Grammy award-winning recording and mixing engineer. He is also a Peabody Award recipient for his work as an engineer on an original podcast.
  • Daniel from Mosadi – A Grammy-winning collective of producers and songwriters contributing texture and depth across genres.
Relaxed Chis

Dreaming Dog is also a milestone for RelaxMyDog, which was acquired by Create Music Group—giving the album a powerful platform and bringing the brand’s pet-calming mission to an even wider audience.

“Even though this music was crafted with dogs in mind,” says Ahmed, “its impact reaches far beyond. It’s for all animals. And all humans.”

At the end of the day, we see Dreaming Dog as more than an album—it’s proof of what’s possible when science, art, and love for animals collide. And whether you’re pressing play for your pup or just for yourself, you may find the music feels like a gift for both.
