Some dogs leave a mark that reaches far beyond their own home. 🤍

@tikatheiggy was many things at once — a fashion icon, a familiar face, a source of joy, and above all, a deeply loved companion. As Thomas Shapiro reflects in this tribute, Tika spent more than 14 years by his side through nearly every major chapter of adult life, and her online charm was very much who she was at home too: expressive, elegant, independent, and unforgettable.

We’re honored to share this beautiful remembrance and to celebrate the legacy Tika leaves behind — not only in the memories she made with her family, but in the comfort, joy, and sense of connection she brought to so many people who followed her story. ✨

🌡️ When temperatures soar, it’s time to hit pause on your dog’s normal routine.

UK Animal welfare experts are urging a temporary “dog lockdown” during extreme heat conditions—and for good reason. Heatstroke can develop quickly and become life-threatening.

🐾 heres 5 simple ways to keep your dog safe:

❌ Skip the walk
Missing a walk is far safer than risking overheating.

🧩 Exercise their brain instead
Puzzle toys, snuffle mats, and indoor training games can help burn energy without raising body temperature.

🏠 Create cool spaces
Close blinds, use fans safely, and give your dog access to cool floors, cooling mats, or damp towels.

💧 Offer plenty of fresh water
Place multiple water bowls around the house and refresh them regularly.

🌬️ Keep the air flowing
Open windows when safe, use fans, and avoid stuffy rooms that trap heat.

⚠️ Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or bright red gums.

A missed walk lasts a day. Heatstroke can have lifelong consequences.

Stay cool, stay safe, and give your pup extra grace during the hottest days of summer. ❤️🐶

Welcome to episode one of our summer safety series, where we bring you vet-approved advice on popular summer themes to help you keep your dog happy & healthy all season long!

Episode 1, just in time for July 4th festivities focuses on FIREWORKS!

Fireworks may be fun for us… but for many dogs, they can feel scary and overwhelming. It’s best to avoid setting fireworks off altogether if you have pets but if you absolutely must set them off a little preparation can make a big difference: walk them earlier, create a cozy safe space, use calming background noise, and stay close if they need comfort. Also ensure they are always kept INDOORS during fireworks so they don’t run away in fear.

You won’t “reinforce” fear by reassuring your dog — your calm presence can help them feel safer. ❤️
