On December 1, 2008, the City of Philadelphia awarded its animal control contract to the PSPCA. The contract for the Animal Care and Control Team Powered by the PSPCA (ACCT) went into effect on January 1, 2009. This represents the important investment the city has made in the lives of its animals. Philadelphians with questions regarding ACCT can email ACCT@pspca.org or call 267-385-3800. All animals coming into the ACCT Operations Center receive a complete medical evaluation and necessary vaccinations. Animals in need of critical care are transported to the PSPCA's animal hospital at its Philadelphia Adoption Center.
