The Empty Cages Collective (ECC) is a New York-based animal and environmental advocacy organization. ECC aims to cultivate a culture where animals are recognized as fellow sentient beings worthy of respectful and compassionate treatment. Through advocacy, education, hands-on rescue and assistance, the ECC envisions a world free of animal exploitation, abuse, and ecologically destructive behavior. ECC is involved with TNR projects throughout the city of New York, with a focus on North Brooklyn neighborhoods. All of our cats and kittens have been, or will be spayed or neutered prior to going to their new homes. They have been vaccinated, dewormed, and tested for feline leukemia and fiv. Muffin's Pet Connection, is a Non-Profit Community Animal Service Organization which has been serving NYC and surrounding areas since 1988. 501 (c) Fed. I.D. # 11 - 3369273 Tax Exempt. Muffin's is not a shelter.* We do not take in animals. The pet owner or rescuer must be able to hold on to the pet until a home is found. Muffin's has assisted pet owners and rescuers in finding homes for 8,500 pets including thousands of cats, dogs, puppies, kittens. Homes have also been found for ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, turtles, birds, hamsters, and iguanas. Many of these pets were going to a kill shelter or on the street.

The purpose of this endeavor is to aid unfortunate animals in the interest of a higher quality of life. We take in rescued, confiscated, neglected, injured, ill, unmanageable, or otherwise unwanted animals from private owners, zoos, shelters, and other public organizations. These animals are cared for, and/or rehabilitated to the best of our ability and means until which time they can be found healthy, happy homes - whether it be through adoption to qualified candidates or legally released into habitats suitable to the specific species in conjunction with licensed wildlife rehabilitators.

Sugar Mutts is an independent, foster-based rescue group specializing in rescuing dogs and matching them up with permanent, loving homes. Most of our dogs are rescued from the city shelter system in order to prevent them from being put down.
