We are a full service hospital for a variety of small animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, and others. Preventative health care is an important part of your animal's good health. Your pet's first visit as a puppy or kitten includes a physical exam, parasite control and vaccinations. We include advice about housetraining, obedience training and nutritional recommendations. Geriatric care involves regularly scheduled physical examinations and may include blood chemistries, x-rays, and other tests to aid in early disease recognition. This enables us to institute treatment if required, in order to provide a more comfortable life for the elderly pet. We are an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA.) These standards pertain to facilities, equipment, practice methods, and management. The purpose of AAHA is to enhance the abilities of veterinarians to provide quality medical care to companion animals; enable veterinarians to successfully conduct their practices and maintain their facilities with high standards of excellence; and to meet the public's need as they relate to the delivery of small animal veterinary medicine. The Animal Hospital of Carrboro has served the greater Chapel Hill and Carrboro community since 1975 as a small animal, full-service hospital. Our associated facility, RadCats, treats cats with hyperthyroidism. We have consistently held the highest accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association. We welcome walk-ins and are equipped to handle emergencies. We also offer grooming services for dogs through our experienced groomer on-site. Our boarding kennels are ready to house nearly any species of companion animal; dogs stay at their own facility next door.
