Joe Wex Dog Recreation Park - thumbs upJoe Wex Dog Recreation Area is part of a larger park called Peter's Park in the South End. For a park in the city, the dog park is great. There are two entrances/exits with double doors so dogs cannot escape while someone is coming in or exiting the park. There is an area to hang leashes and poop bags ae also provided. There are rocks and trees for the dogs to eliminate on and plenty of benches and seating for the owners. Most of the dog owners are friendly, knowledgeable, and are in tune with their own pups. The only downside is that I wish that the fence surrounding the park was a little bigger. It is probably only a 3 1/2 foot fence and I get nervous that someone's dog could jump it and run out into a busy street, although I have never seen that happen. There is also ample parking near the dogpark if you do not live within walking distance. If you live in or around Boston, definitely stop by Joe Wex. |
