“Non-profit, no-kill shelter. ”
The BEST no-kill shelter!!
Everyone in my family (except Knuckles, a homeless cat that our humans rescued directly off the streets) came to the MaxFund under unfortunate circumstances. I was a stray who'd been hit by a dog. Moey was lost, and no one came to claim him. Minky, another sick stray (MaxFund spent thousands of dollars getting her well). Slappy, a stray with terminal cancer. Tippy, a too-rowdy puppy whose older human couldn't keep up with him. Squirt, a lost and sick puppy. Little Joe, a lost young boy. Foxy, a lost old girl. Angel, rescued from a bad home and nearly dead upon arrival. ALL of us found great forever homes, thanks to MaxFund. We LOVE this place. Some of us would never have had a chance at life if we hadn't been taken in by a no-kill shelter. We were too old, too sick, too expensive to cure, hopeless, etc., etc. One criticism we've heard about no-kill shelters is that they take in only the young, cute, highly adoptable animals. Au contraire! If you visit MaxFund, you'll find that they have an affinity for animals like us: older, sick, injured, disabled, behaviorally challenged, etc. Their priority is to take in sick and injured strays with no known owner, make them well, and then find them great forever homes. Until a home is found, every cat and dog there can rest assured that they'll have a home at MaxFund.posted: February 24th, 2009
MaxFund is an amazing place that is truly no-kill. They have high medical bills, because they take injured animals and spend what it takes to get the animal healthyand ready for adoption.
MaxFund took great care of me when I was a kitten. They found a great home for me and I am glad that I had a second chance. I owe my life to them. Thanks MaxFund!
