Dog Parks & Dog Runs Oak Street Bakersfield, CA 93301 This city park is a good park to take your dog while in Bakersfield. The Kern River Parkway paved exercise trail passes through here and there are picnic tables and open areas. Dogs must be on leash in the park and on the Kern River Parkway trail.
Dog Parks & Dog Runs 4101 Mohawk Street Bakersfield, CA 93308 San Lauren Community Park, run by the North of the River Recreation & Park District, has a large fenced-in leash-free area for dogs. On Grand Opening Day (11/10/07) they already had a drinking fountain for the dogs and benches for the humans. Future work to the leash-free area and community park were still planned.
Dog Parks & Dog Runs 5601 Harris Road (Harris Rd/Winter Grove Dr) Bakersfield, CA 93313 Small dogs only fenced-in leash-free area at Seasons Park. This is the park located on the corner of Harris Rd & Winter Grove Dr, right next to Bill L. Williams Elementary School. The small dog park is located just behind the California Water Service building. No parking is available on Harris Road, but you can park on Winter Grove Dr. (If school's not in session, you can probably park in the school parking lot as well.) This dog park has a double-gated entry, a couple of trees for shade, and a picnic bench.
