I rescued a 7 year old German spitz/pom over a year and a half ago. He has been re-homed several times, the last one due to a death. The vet thinks he was the victim of a backyard breeder at some point, and he has alot of issues. The name they gave him at the rescue was not to my liking, (it was "Suncatcher"),so I changed it. Problem is, I've had a Maine Coon cat since he was very young, and he came with the name "Bear". The dog barely responds to the name I gave him, (I think he got thumped on the head a few too many times, as well), but he responds when I yell at the cat! I think he was named "Bear" in one of his other lives. I can't have two pets with the same name, but want to find something he will respond to. Please help?
