would a greater swiss mountain do alright in hot states like Texas.
We are a military family and have to move a lot, right now we are in Germany, end of the year we will be in Georgia and than probably Texas. we already have a Doberman and we really fell in love with Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs and loved to get one, but we are not sure if they are good hot weather dogs and if they rather would suffer in hot states like Texas or other hot climates? Or do they just fine and are able to adapt .... thank you all so much in advance!

You don't even necessarily have to keep him shaved, just make sure he is an inside dog and has access to lots of water.
Mastiffs don't do so well in hot weather either, but my hubby and I are stationed in SC right now and he does fine... We just keep the AC up for him and lots of access to water! Oh and he has a baby pool to wade in and lay down in if he wants to!
