No but a lot of owners are likely to give you a complex telling you that you ruined your dog’s coat. Do what makes you and your dog most comfortable.

No, your dog won't care what she looks like. Dogs don't have the same amount of self-awareness people do, and don't care if they get a bad haircut, or have funny looking teeth, or any of that.

That said, getting a dog's fur clipped short can do a lot of damage to the coat, causing it to grow back in differently, and can also endanger your dog's health. Light colored dogs that are clipped are susceptible to sunburn, for example, and most dogs are more likely to suffer heat stroke if they've been clipped, because their fur cannot fill its natural protective function.
