Why is my Jackie so agressive towards visitors to my house?

When someone comes to my house, Zeus barks wildily and will attempt to bite whomever it is. My youngest son and i share a bedroom. Sometimes my son will slip into my bed during the night. Zeus sleeps in my room, usually on my bed. When my son slips into my bed, Zeus will growl and bite at my son. Anyone who tries to enter my bedroom gets the same treatment as my son. Whats this all about? Zeus is 8 months old.

I SAW A DOG WHISPERER SHOW WITH THIS EXACT SAME SITUATION. THE CELEB "DOWNTOWN" JULIE BROWN'S DOG GROWLED AND SNAPPED AT HER CHILD. CEASER INSISTED SHE NEVER TOLERATE THAT AND REMOVE THE DOG FROM HER AFFECTION WHENEVER IT HAPPENED. IT WORKED. VICTORIA DID SOMETHING SIMILAR BY HAVING THE OWNER GIVE THE OTHER DOGS CHICKEN SNACKS WHENEVER THE NEW DOG ENTERED THE ROOM TO GAIN ACCEPTANCE. MAYBE YOU COULD TRY THAT BY GIVING YOUR DOG A SPECIAL SNACK AS SOON AS YOUR SON ENTERED THE ROOM SO THE DOG ASSOCIATES SNACK WITH KID.

I would not know for sure with out more detail but it sounds like your dog is the dominate figure in the house.

My first suggestion would be to stop allowing Zeus to sleep on your bed. As soon as Zeus starts to show any sign of agression to your son it should be stopped immediately through out the day.
With all of my dogs and the dogs that I work with, until they are at least 18 months of age they sleep in a crate. This sets up some limitations. It sounds like your Jackie may need some more rules and limitations so that he will not feel so possessive & dominate.
