Why does my Yellow lab always sit, lay down, or sleep with his back legs crossed?
My dog is a Yellow Labrador Retriever That I rescued at an animal Shelter on April 23, 2011. His name is Cooper and I love him to death!! :)

He probably is just comfortable that way. That's great you rescued him. Good Luck with him!

best thing to do is ask a vet what to do, they can xray your dog and see if there is an orthopedic problem.
But, in all, you have a great dog who will love you alot, so enjoy him.
Some dogs can also be narrow in the back and it is just the way they are born. But, with larger dogs you do have to be aware that hip dyplasia can occur. Ask your vet what that is and that you'd like to know if his hips are good or not. The only way to know this is to have a xray by a licensed vet, some places are better to do this at who do it hundreds of times a year. Michigan state did mine and they still do as far as I know.
