Alot of dogs love to lick. Licking may be a sign of affection, It's her way of showing you that she's enjoying spending time cuddled on the couch with you. Or, she may just like the taste of your soap! Though it's usually harmless, licking can be a problem if carried to an extreme. Sometimes dogs can lick compulsively or as a response to stress or boredom. Since she is licking different fabrics and whatnot also, it may just be she likes the taste.
Obsessive dogs that lick themselves non-stop can lick their fur off and even injure their skin. This is a behavioral problem that may require veterinary intervention. If you're worried that your dog's licking is unusual, it couldn't hurt to consult with your vet and see what they say. Anyway, good luck with everything.

My Tiffy does the same thing, especially with my bed. But she is constantly giving me kisses, that's just her. Your dog may like the way you taste because dogs have weird taste buds. It wouldn't be anything to worry about unless it is compulsive licking.

Mocha Bear (Mokie), VGG, KPA,

Licking can mean all kinds of things to a dog. Often, in "doggy language," kisses are an appeasement gesture or calming signal.

In regards to licking or sucking on fabric, this trait is often seen in puppies who are taken from their litter at too young an age. Was your puppy younger than eight weeks when you brought him/her home? If so, this may be a vestigal behavior from not having had the full recommended time with her litter.

Sometimes dogs can lick you for different reasons. You may have food on your hands that your Bichon finds tasty, they may like the taste of the salt from your skin or, they could be mutual grooming. Mutual grooming is when your dog licks you and other animals. It is a sign of affection and it is supposed to calm both you and the dog.

Perhaps your Bichon licks most types of fabric because it is curious and is learning new things and trying out new tastes. Just like a young baby who wants to discover things by putting them in their mouth, chewing, biting and licking things like they think they are lollipops. Perhaps your dog is just discovering.
