When my puppy sleeps, she starts breathing fast.. does anybody know what this is???

Every time she sleeps, she starts breathing heavy. And when she does sleep, I can move her paws like she is dead, and it scares me, I have to really shake her a bit to wake her up, but when she is up, she is fine. Any suggestions on what this is???

First, you should ask you Vet to be sure. However, puppies breath hard and fast when they are asleep. They do sleep so that their limbs are quite mobile as they are zonked out. I think you may be overracting to a very natural thing and waking her is not going to help he get her rest.

I thought my puppy seemed to breath ridiculously fast his first couple nights, but i think it was a combination of excitement and exhaustion from the new environment. Also, i don't think i realized the normal breathing rate of a puppy. Now that I see him all the time it just seems normal.
