How young is the puppy? Most puppies are born with blue eyes and they will remain blue-ish until they are a couple of months old.
There are a few breeds that often have one or both eyes stay blue. This is often a very different color than "puppy blue". Much lighter, almost icy looking. It's common in husky type breeds, but I have also seen it in Border Collies, Aussies, and Corgis.
Also there is something called "heterochromia irides", which basically means "multi colored irises". This is most often seen in dogs that are also merle, and appears as if the iris of the eye is two different colors, splotches of blue and brown.
All types of blue eyes can appear in purebred and mixed breed dogs if they are mixed with a breed that normally exhibits the blue eyes.

Join Dogster and put up some pictures. We love puppy pictures. Add Australian Cattle Dogs to Gio's blue eyed list. Light brown with white could be an Alaskan Husky mix. Too hard to guess with out a picture. The eyes may be a different color soon. How old is the pup? Enjoy him!

Anna, Jazzy's house sister, has blue eyes. She is a full blood sheltie but she is a bi-blue colored sheltie. She is very unique. They aren't very common though. Most shelties have three colors but she only has two. Some shelties, which are the blue merles...they sometimes have one eye brown and the other blue and sometimes they are both the same color...either blue...or brown. Some Austrailian Shepards have blue eyes also.

When we had a Old English Sheepdog she had blue eyes (most do). But I have seen a fully grown shih tzu with blue eyes but they aren't that common. X
