What kind of d-o-g am I?

We spell the word d-o-g in case she hears. I rescued this d-o-g from the san fran spca, and they said she has been on the streets quite a while. They said some kind of pekingese mix. She weighed 11 pounds the day we met. She now weighs 17 pounds, and thinks she is a Great Dane when she sees other dogs, or if anyone so much as hugs me. She has had as much of the mail mans pants that would fit in her tiny mouth(severe underbite) until he lifted up his leg with her dangling and said, "what IS this?". Shes truly the center of my world, and a DIVA (thats her name) in every sense of the word. She has a tail that curls up over her back, stocky bow legged frame, and has obviously had a few litters of pups for her young 18 month age. I would love to know what she is! Thanks in advance for any help.

I see Pekingnese/Longhair Chihuahua mix. Yes, she is larger than standard for these breeds, but many puppymill and "back yard breeder" (inexperienced amateur breeder) dogs will be larger than standard. It is unnatural for dogs to be so small, and if attention isn't paid to keeping that small size, the dogs will revert back to larger size within a few generations (mainly because larger dogs have larger litters and are generally healthier than the teeny toy-sized ones.)

She could even be a poorly bred purebred Peke. (not to slam her, just saying that whoever bred her wasn't trying very hard to maintain breed type!) They actually used to look more like Diva than the walking footstools they are now. :)

First off I want to thank you for rescuing a dog in need.

These are of course guesses but I do see a Pekingese and maybe a Pomeranian somewhere in her pedigree. But there is something else in her because both Pekingese and Pomeranians usually weigh less than 14 lbs.

I agree with the Peke-Pom mix. You really should work on her aggression & resource guarding issues. A biting dog is NOT acceptable, regardless of size. Just because she is small does not make it ok or cute.

Griffin

Diva looks like a peke-pom with some chihuahua in her is she kind of longish? if so that is from either the pekagnese or japanese chin all small dogs think they are big and tough our small dogs are peke-pom-chin and a chih-pom-chin and when it comes to other dogs they act the same way but they love to meet people griffin is shy of men and women but when he sees peaky come up to them or when mom holds him he is fine with meeting people once he know them its hard to get him away from them

Gia

Defiantly part Pekinease, she has the look and over bite.
