Maverick

Mom recommends trying angel eyes. Its supposed to work really well to help remove the tear stains safely.

Angel Eyes does work but it's important to remember it contains an antibiotic which is what makes it work. You need to decide whether keeping a dog on an antibiotic long term is something you think is safe and is something you want to do. I use it for my show poodles, but only during the week prior to a show, and not full time.

Jack

It does contain an antibiotic, but just to clarify, it's not the same as giving a dog an antibiotic pill every day. It does build up in the bloodstream as anything topical goes into the skin and goes into the bloodstream, even things like human moisturizers can do that.

The type of antibiotic used is a very narrow spectrum gram negative antibiotic which just means that it's not commonly effective enough to be prescribed any longer when we have stronger things. In contrast, it would be in the opposite class as penicillin or tetracycline and it's considered highly unlikely to become immune to the antibiotic effects of this drug since it's so weak.

There is some evidence that this product can cause false readings on certain types of blood tests, so clearly SOMETHING is getting in the dog's systems.

I'd recommend a plain damp cloth wipe down every day; that works better than anything. Just take the time once or twice a day to do this for your dog and you'll have great results.
