We are seeking a solution on how to deal with our dog that has bladder cancer and wakes us up all night long to urinate.

Our eight year old Smooth Coat Collie has bladder cancer. It is uncurable. She has about 4 more months to live. WE are very sad but are doing what we can to make her last few months on Earth comfortable. Problem is she urinates very often and in the middle of the night she wakes us up twice or more times to go outside to go to the bathroom. Sometimes she doesnt make it and urinates on the carpet. It is gross. But we can't leave her outside because she barks all night long (loudly) and we don't want to burn bridges with our neighbors. Our house is not equipped for a doggie door. WE love her but really want to have our lives back to normal. Does anyone have any suggestions for us?

Sorry that she has cancer. I don't have any suggestions for the going out several times, but you can get her doggie diapers that will stop the accidents on the floor. You can try KV Pet supply on the internet. Good Luck!

What about an exercise pen complete with ample puppy pads? Put her bed on one end and the pads on the other end. If she normally sleeps in your room, you can put it in there so she will be more comfortable.
Line the floor with heavy plastic to protect the floor and/or carpet.
