Vet prescribed Vetropolycin for my 7-year-old female (spayed) Scottie 2X daily five days ago. Do I have to taper use?

Greenish mucous has cleared. Worst eye has gone from red to pinkish. I'm concerned that this ointment has steroid component and don't know whether I can just stop treatment or must taper as with most other steroidal products. No drug labeling provided by vet.
