Too tall for carrier

My mommy has never flown before, and neither have I. We're both nervous about it. I'm only 7lbs, but my legs are really long, so I'm too tall for the carrier, and my mommy is nervous about whether or not they'll let me in the cabin. She doesn't want me to go in cargo because I'm too nervous and wouldn't do well alone. Does anyone have any advice?

I could be wrong, but being too tall for the carrier shouldn't keep them from letting you on, so long as you do fit in it.

Your mommy needs to call the airline or at least browse their website. I understand that to go in cargo, the crate must be high enough for the dog to stand upright with its head erect. I don't know if the rules are the same for small dogs in the cabin. No matter what you are told here, the airline will go by its rules.

JoJo will be fine.I work for the Airlines and have traveled all over with my Cody. As long as JoJo is comforable in his carrier in the cabin and you can zip it up.hes fine.
Cody cant stand up in his sheppa carrier but he is always ready to get in his carrier and cuddle up with his favorite toy or bone. He goes right in.
Before you travel keep the bag open for JoJo to go in and out of and inspect. maybe throw a treat or toy in there. Then after that zip the bag and carry him around to get him use to it.
My 20 lb Cody has gone from VA to Alaska... VA to Hawaii...VA to San Franisco to name a few. The only requirement the airlines have for in the cabin dogs is the SIZE of the carrier.. They should be soft side Sheppa is the brand they prefer. Hope this helps

Your mom can call the DogTravel Company - they will let you fly without a crate sitting next to your mom!
